Although much smaller than his clan leader, Night has muscles of iron and an irreplaceable asset in protecting the clan and carrying part of the bulk of their inventory during travels. More than once he has proven his battle prowess. Night is is loyal enough to Sawbones that one could think he was his charge. Even though not unlikely, this is not the case.

Nobody knows what happened to Night's charge, but there is no doubt that if it had been preventable he'd have prevented it - his devoutness to his tasks is testament to the diligent dragon he had been in his prime.

He was found on the plains heavily emanciated and far from his homeland - and only Pox and Measles' talent had kept him alive, despite his protests. It had been a long road for him, and while Sawbones' gentle talks with the broken Guardian certainly helped his mental condition, it was only when he picked up training that his life seemed to slowly gain a new purpose.

Nowadays, whenever guilt and sorrow hangs over his head, Night traces the steps of the eternal battle dance of the Shadow Flight until every limb is shaking from exertion before ending it with two thankful prayers to Plaguebringer and his birth deity for granting him a new chance.

He trains exaltees before they move on, teaching them what he knows in the hopes that his knowledge will help them serve their deity - and perhaps one day save their life, even when it could not save his charge. Sometimes he dreams of the day he is exalted, of meeting all his trainees and hearing of their glorious adventures.
