ESPRESSO
______________________________________________________________________________________Espresso comes from a long line of coffee lovers, having parents, brothers, sisters, and even her familiar named after various caffeinated concoctions. She has learned to love coffee almost as much as her parents, and her plans were to one day work at the bakery, as none of her siblings wanted to do it.
She had a sister, named Meloetta, who looked very similar, except for her eyes and her beautiful wing filigree. But, they had a very important difference. Meloetta wanted to go off and battle for the Gladekeeper, with her brothers, while she would prefer to stay home and run the bakery.
It was very sunny on the day that the recruiters came. The tough looking dragons squinted at their recording sheets and searched for a hatchling named Meloetta. A dark red female saw Espresso watering the flowers, (she looked a lot like her sister) and put her in the recruiting wagon to drive to the fort on the edge of The Shrieking Wilds, where they would start their training.
Espresso was a bit confused why the wagon to the bakery was driven by tough looking Ridgebacks in helmets, but she didn't complain and sat there happily.
A few hours later, she was starting to realize that they weren't going to the bakery. The tiny wagon bumped along the scorching plains of the Earth kingdom. She panicked and decided to try and escape. When the wagon stopped for a break, she slipped out of the side and began to fly.
The red dragon called after, but it was in vain as she pumped her wings as hard as she could, not looking back. When at last she saw the familiar green leafiness of her jungle home , she stopped. Espresso realized she had absolutely no idea where she was. All that she had with her was her familiar, a water skin, and her trusty recipe book.
Suddenly, she heard wing beats. The cream colored dragon dove for cover, but when she peeked out of her hiding spot all she saw was a beautiful shiny blue and white Imperial dragon like herself. He looked tired and was almost collapsing with exhaustion.
She cautiously crept out of her hiding spot and introduced herself. After a sip from her water and a few minutes of rest, she learned that the dragon's name was Azure, and he had followed her after changing his mind about going to fight for the Gladekeeper. He was also lost, and he didn't want to hurt her at all.
Espresso trusted him, and she didn't want to spend the night alone. They both agreed to spend the night in the woods, as it was very windy out in the open.
They constructed a makeshift lean to and dozed off.
