Isolde is a quiet, reserved dragon who expresses herself more through art than through words. Specifically, she works with glass, creating brilliant works full of vibrant colors and void of impurities. She makes the glass herself, melting down sand in her studio's raging furnace. She adds all manner of colors and sometimes, when she's going for a less vibrant look, uses different types of sand to give the glass a slightly different hue. Sand from the Starfall Isles, for instance, creates glass with a lovely purple tint, which becomes more intense when exposed to prolonged sunlight.

Her studio is located in the remains of a tall, stone-walled building with a domed roof. She keeps floating lanterns lit whenever she's working, so that even at night she can easily see what she's doing. Like nearly all her works as well as the walls of the studio itself, these lanterns are brightly colored, making every piece of glass in the studio shine with a thousand hues. Isolde keeps her studio carefully maintained, making sure everything is clean and tidy. Broken glass gets reused, either melted down again or used in jewelry or decorations, and even some of the lanterns have glass tassels hanging from them.

Isolde takes great pride in both her work and her studio, which may be why she can be so reluctant to let other dragons inside. That reluctance may also just result from concern that less experienced dragons could get burned, though...
