Biography
Quote:
Quarry was born alone in the wilds. He never minded, he grew up stronger for it. Sure it would've been nice to meet his family or know what happened but that wasn't what was important. He needed to find the meaning behind the gap he felt in his heart. So he started searching.
He wandered most of his life, enjoying his travels and any company he met along the way. He grew up primarily vegetarian so he never struggled for food or had any reason to sharpen his battle skills. Until he met a young bogsneak.
The bogsneak was... different. It almost didn't seem as though it was a dragon, it was too... otherworldly, almost hypnotic. Something about this dragon struck him to his core. He wanted to follow the creature, he wanted to protect it, he wanted it.
So he introduced himself the only way he knew how, with food. At the offer of juicy fruits, the creature agreed to meet, seeming to sense his pure intentions. They met the next day for breakfast over apples.
During their talks, the pair grew comfortable around each other. Quarry told of how he lived alone searching for purpose in his life, and that they seemed special somehow. The bog smiled and told of their life, how they weren't actually a dragon but an otherworldly being that simply looks like whatever would make those around them most comfortable. Quarry didn't mind and didn't doubt their words for a second.
He followed his charge through their many travels and many forms. He learned how to fight, and while he still lacks proper practice and instruction he can finally hold his own. Some days his charge is his familiar, other times his best friend, and very rarely do they show their true form, a strange writhing blob of a creature. But no matter what they look like, Quarry will follow them and protect them, they are his.
