Family [ edit ]
Kelp met his spouse Toxic when they collaborated on their research. Toxic studied biological samples from overexposed dragons and helped diagnose the proper treatment for dragons. They married in XXXXX after Toxic joined Vase's clan. In XXXXX they adopted their child Xixi. All other details are unknown.
Early life [ edit ]
Career [ edit ]
Discoveries [ edit ]
Kelp first developed his theories about magic elemental exposure when he saw dragons who seemed to be suffering from too much plague magic in his birthplace of Rotrock Rim. Kelp theorised that long-time exposure to sources of strong elemental magic could be toxic corrupt a dragon's soul and cause death. He hypothesized that exposing a dragon to magics that are strong against the magic they are suffering with would help manage symptoms but not cure them. He tested this by introducing the plague magic infected dragons in his home place to foods that were rich in light magic. He discovered the cure when studying the rare cases where dragons change their elemental magic. When studying a fire dragon that was an elemental aid they described the process in which they changed from a lightning dragon to a fire dragon. Though the process was not something he could replicate for patients Kelp searched for a way to remove magic from patients in a benign way. Kelp came across that answer when treating Orion of Vase's clan. Orion collected old elemental runestones that no longer held any magic. Kelp discovered that he could drain light magic from Orion in an empty light runestone. The current cure for magic over-exposure is to use a magical item that has lost all of its magic and pouring magic into it. This may have to be done with multiple objects depending on the amount of magic a dragon was exposed to. A magical item can be artifically emptied and then used for treatment.
Controvorsy [ edit ]
Kelp has been involved in controversies because he believes very strongly in his theory about the origin of the gods and elemental magic. He has refused to back down when debating other researchers and has spoken very condescendingly to them. While Kelp's medical study about overexposure is considered very important research that has saved lives, he is not well-liked when it comes to his other research.

Only known photo of Kelp in casual wear. |
Little is known about Kelp's hatchling-hood. He grew up somewhere in the Rotrock Rim but left upon reaching dragon hood. In his youth, he saw dragons suffer seemingly from overexposure to elemental plague magic and wondered if other types of elemental magic would have similar effects. He traveled across the land to find patients he could study. More out of curiosity than an interest in helping others. Eventually, his travels led to him meeting Orion, who was suffering from light magic overexposure and introduced Kelp to Vase. Kelp became the fifth member of Vase's new clan and a founding member. |
