Hungry for the unknown, he cheerfully crosses the line between bravery and stupidity on a regular basis. Originally, Jaren preferred to keep to himself; being unable to speak made communication with most other Guardians difficult. Eventually, though, he met Morganna, an Awoken Titan, and the two hit it off, becoming each other's first real Fireteam members. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯Jaren sometimes has a hard time speaking vocally; When he was raised the only language he knew was a mix of Awoken and English Sign Language. He's been learning to speak English over time, but still has difficulty with it when stressed or flustered.  He has a small apartment in the Tower, essentially a refitted maintenance closet. It's just big enough for a bed, a desk, and a small closet. The lights have been out for years, but he doesn't want to bother anyone to fix it, so he just 'stole' some Dawning lights and has them hanging around his room. In his previous life, Jaren was in training to become an Awoken Corsair, specializing as a sniper. He began gender transition while in training. He died while on a scouting mission on Earth, he was fatally shot by a Hive acolyte and his body was never recovered. Jaren experiences odd visions at infrequent times; these visions are usually short and seem meaningless to him, though recently he's learned to take them more seriously. On occasion, however, they are longer and more direct, lasting up to twenty minutes. During these, he is completely unresponsive.
