Serhan

Serhan keeps his eyes hidden by the brim of his brilliant red fedora, and nearly always has a disarmingly kind smile on his muzzle.

Serhan is easy to talk to, he has a gentle voice and a calm demeanor. He also has a slight accent. Not enough of one to confuse his words, but enough to make his speech patterns sound more formal and attractive to the ear.

Serhan's establishment is officially a tea shop, and this is the aesthetic he created for it, but it actually sells any drink one could want. And if he somehow does not have something to one's tastes, he will find a way to get it seemingly regardless of price or scarcity.

Nargacuga stepped into the circular open air courtyard and took in the layout of the area, it impressed her as much as it did when it was first built. There were many round tables with four to six chairs to each with the tables placed a good distance from one another. Not so far that they became islands, but not so close that they felt crowded in. Across from Nargacuga was the two story building whose courtyard she had just entered, Kage no Sekai's tea house and home to the guardian that Nargacuga was there to meet. Surrounding the courtyard was a thin layer of starwood trees and soft flowers with just one archway entrance leading to and from the marketplace of Kage no Ichiba.

As Nargacuga reached the center of the courtyard she took a moment to enjoy the stars above, the beautiful watercolour night. Although Kage no Sekai was in constant darkness, true nights were still breathtaking to Nargacuga.

"Come for a late-night drink, Madame Nargacuga?" A large guardian asked kindly from his table on the outer edge.

"I more wanted to talk to you, Serhan." Nargacuga said, refusing to show how startled she was by the fact that she did not see him or his bright clothing before he spoke. "But a little something does sound good."

"What will your yashrab be? I have something for every dragon." Serhan placed a second ornate teacup on his table, this cup across from him.

Nargacuga walked over and sat down. "Whatever tea you're drinking today will be fine." She was certain that he would have tea, as he never seemed to drink anything else. Serhan smiled calmly as he poured into Nargacuga's cup from an elegant and steaming kettle. They drank in silence for a few moments before Serhan spoke up.

"I presume," Serhan started, emphasizing the word in such a way that it sounded like pray-sume. "That you are here on behalf of Rajani. But what is done is done, and there is no point in asking me to undo it."

"No point because no-one can change anything, or because you won't?" Nargacuga asked.

"Does it matter?" Serhan asked over his teacup, taking a long sip of the warm brew.

Nargacuga looked at Serhan for a moment, wishing -not for the first time -that he would take off his fedora so that she could see his eyes, and guess at his thoughts. Actually, Nargacuga thought idly, I don't think that I've ever seen his eyes. I don't even know what deity he was born to.

"...I suppose not. But I hope you'll reconsider."

The gently grinning guardian simply laughed lightly, and took another sip from his tea.
