Biography
claws make impressions into the grass
not a sound left behind
prowling
quiet
wings low
gracefully she prowls
every muscle rigid
every muscle fluid
eyes piercing into the darkness
Gaia was born a huntress. As a member of the Nature Flight she was always expected to be one with the abundant life before her. And she was indeed; every fiber in her body, from the tip of her tail to the tip of her wings, was in tune with the creatures she hunted. She felt most alive during her nightly prowls, seeking out new challenges. But for Gaia, hunting was never about violence. She loved the great power she felt, the harmony that she was able to achieve. To her, hunting was all about balance.
This lesson she imparted to the hatchlings at the end of her stories, while their eyes were still wide with awe. Killing for sport made her feathers itch, and she was not afraid to challenge even the largest dragon in her clan over it.
A flash of color
quick feet dart from the darkness
she strikes
teeth find their mark
the prey falls
gently
carefully
she lays the form into the sea of green
stars flickering overhead
she thanks the balance
the Tidelord
the harmony of all things
When the hunt is over, Gaia often relaxed in the pools. She was most approachable then, and the other members of her clan often join her to hear her stories.
