MCC 13.
The last MCC of season one.
I watched as the final game was announced, staring in anticipation for the randomizer to pick between the tied games.
Build Mart it was.
The Purple Penguins cheered, happy to have their chance in the finals.
Their chance to win the last game of the year.
Build Mart passed quite quickly. The Purple Penguins collected enough coins to place second, and the group of four arrived in the arena, nervous but ready to play Dodgebolt.
The first round passed. They won against their opponent.
The second round passed. The group won this one as well.
But the dreaded thing that they had all feared had happened.
The reverse sweep.
One by one, each member fell, and the last three rounds were gone.
Slipped out of their grasp, the last game of the year was lost.
But they still got second, an impressive feat.
Several days prior to the MCC, I set up a nest between two of my dragons.
And on the day of the MCC, this dragon was ready to hatch.
In honour of one of the members, the builder and the master of bread, I named this dragon Maui.
After their cat.
