Rad's writer's aid is quite useful in the business of her apprenticeship with Sol, a helpful witch within the village. Not only does it help her write down the recipe for potions that Sol brews but it also helps her scribble doodles of sol and natrao, who sol often will leave the tower to check on. This gives both Rad time to practice her magic and potion brewing and Sol to fret over his ever working mate in peace, and later on allow Sol to return and give Rad a pop quiz on what she was practicing. More often than not it was simply drawing in her notebook, which she would sheepishly forfeit to her superior and always gain a heartfelt laugh.
