Lore Notes:


- Batin is a Muslim masculine name that means 'hidden'. In a wider sense, Batin can refer to the inner meaning or reality behind all existence, the Zahir being the world of form and apparent meaning. (Zahir is an Arabic term in some tafsir for what is external and manifest)

- The guardian himself lives up to the more simple version of his name; hidden. He is currently the second youngest of his siblings, Acropora being the youngest. And yet, no one in his family seems to know of his existence.

- He is a determined and rather stoic guardian. He seems rather cold and off-putting at first but he is shown to hold sympathy in his heart. He has had many encounters with dragons he ended up saving, and despite how much they begged to work for him and be a part of his boat he always denied them.

- He had been taken away as a hatchling by a nifty fae who wished to recruit him to their organization. However, as he grew so has his morals and his urge to seek out a charge, and he was lucky enough to be granted freedom.

- Despite leaving, he still holds a close connection to Kahuna, seeing him as a brother.

- He runs a lone pirate ship, odd right? That's because he doesn't strive to be a captain of a crew, but rather seeks out his own adventures and treasure - not seeing a reason to have a dragon alongside him. He holds his charge close; his boat and treasure.

- He is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and strategy, not only that but he wields many experiences with fighting before either from other ships to monsters of the deep. He can also be quite agile despite his size, being able to cover traps more gracefully than most guardians.

- He was discovered upon meeting Cascade for the first time. Believing she was a god, he set his sails after her only to encounter her large tides and found himself near the shore where he witnessed Queen Meyry for the first time.

- It was after Cascade left he had caught Meyry's attention, and she knew right away who he was related to - Kahuna did seem like a perfect mixture of his mother and father. As much as he wanted to deny her of his assistance he ended up becoming a side ally to the Amethyst for the cost she'd keep his identity a secret - not wanting to hold the weight of his parents seeking out for him.
