Stygian Stormclaws
Stygian started his life in the streets of Goldensparc, a poor hatchling born to street scum parents. As a youngling, he had a keen interest in history and the ancient past, a sentiment not shared nor encouraged by his parents. When he was of age (and had the money) he, without a second thought, left his hometown and his parents without so much as a word or even letter. The first stop on his list was Hewn City. He'd heard much about the mysterious ruins, and always dreamed to witness them himself. When he arrived, it was as awesome as he'd imagine, yet discomforting at the same time. There, he met another researcher with whom he'd become great friends and traveling partners with, Pandora Reefsnake. Though they'd rather quickly be driven from the ancient ruins by the lumbering Emperor Dragon terrorizing the Sunbeam Ruins. In a frenzy escaping the Lightweaver's domain, Stygian and Pandora found themselves in the neighboring Tangled Wood. Here, Pandora became enchanted by the dark ruins, similar yet in contrast to the Sunbeam Ruins. All the way however, Stygian felt a sinking feeling, as if they were being watched... |
...As it turned out, they were being shadowed by a nocturne dragon, though she wasn't a Shadow dragon. Her name was Medea, and she had come to the Shadowbinder's territory to live but was quickly getting bored of it. Seeing that Stygian and Pandora were foreign to the land, she was intending to ask if she could travel with them but thought it'd be funny to freak them out a bit first. Despite Stygian's initial concerns, Pandora apparently found Medea's little prank quite funny and vouched for her to join them. Lucky for Stygian that she did, as over the course of the next couple of moons he'd end up falling in love with her. Pandora still claims she "briefly saw into the future" and did it for Stygian. Their final archaeological destination was Dragonhome, where after a particularly enchanting night at the Pillar of the World, Stygian sprung to his pals a dream: founding a museum. He wanted to share his passion to other dragons, and maybe fund future expeditions. The only question was where. Luckily for him, Medea was not without connections: something like this would definitely be appreciated in the Starfall Isles, and it just so happened she knew an arcane dragon who'd be more than willing to help with this endeavor. |

Within the Tourmaline Archives, Stygian found a world of wonder and dragons and beastclan who shared his passions. Lost in the winding corridors and towering bookcases, he didn't even know where to begin. In a quiet room of the Archives, Anju Starstreak suggested to Stygian that perhaps they could form a scholarly group? Anju himself was interested in the military history of Sornieth. Stygian fervently agreed, and soon he and Anju would seek out other dragons visiting or living within the Archives to perhaps join their little idea. One new friend became five, five became several more, and soon they had connecting groups of scholars, all studying different topics. Their burgeoning group was becoming noticeably large, and so Auralion Rotter suggested they give their group a proper name, structure, and perhaps some kind of application process. Through their efforts, the Starwrought Circle was born. Stygian now leads his own group, the Dirtcarvers, in archeological digs, studies, etc. Their spire within the archives houses many artifacts, all on display. |
