"The world doesn't revolve around you, you know."
Those words struck my heart like no other blade on the continent. I was so young then. A selfish, young, stupid child with no clue who I was, only a clue as to what I wanted. I wanted treasure. I wanted a life. I wanted freedom. I wanted love. But my father said no to all of those things.
"If you want treasure, you have to work for it. If you want a life, you must prepare for it. If you want freedom, you must pay for it. If you want love, you must change for it."
I could work. I could prepare. I could pay. I could not change. Changing meant dropping standards. Changing meant being humble. Changing meant lowering my ferocity. Changing meant losing myself. I would not lose myself for ANYTHING. So I refused to change. I never received love after that conversation. I was smacked over the head in attempts to nail in perspectives I did not support. I lashed out in anger and savagery. By the time I could fly the coop I had lost myself in the fight for freedom. I knew my father didn't care for me. I could feel every emotion. If only I knew what I was feeling was tough love. We might have been a family still to this day.

I came to the Windswept Plateau for one reason. Freedom. The land was calling to me, the scribes far behind me. Freedom in the forms of winds and kites. Kites without strings. That's what I wanted to be. I came across the Swiftwind Village. My violent demeanor was not welcomed however, and a group of guards in ebony armor came and took me away to "kick me out of the village", but these were no ordinary guards. They asked strange questions, about my beliefs and deeper thoughts. I would answer them with rage, telling them my dislike for evil in the world and the kin of darkness. I would scream about my rights, trying to escape. When I gave up on escape I would curse and spit, clawing at them mercilessly. These guards were assassins I would learn quickly enough. I was thrown at the feet of the Guild Leader himself.
"This one..." They had said, "This one can be of great service to us."
If I had known what was coming next, I wouldn't have clawed and scratched away that pretty ebony blue off their armor so harshly. The Guild Leader listened to the guards' reasoning as they pressed my head to the floor. I stopped struggling when I heard the Guild Leader offer a proposition.
"I hear you are quite opinionated about the evils you see in the world, and that you want to be rid of them. What if I told you I can help you do that, and provide all that you would ever need in life? Would you join me and my guild?"
No threats were made with this proposition, so I had no idea no would be the wrong answer. I didn't say no however, unbeknownst to me that in doing so I had saved my own life. I had thought for a moment, absorbing the idea of having all I had wanted since I was young, and then looked up to him. I agreed blindly, not caring what it took. The imperial nodded, and introduced himself and his organization.
"I am Mooncaller, and welcome, Neptune of the water Flight, to the Blackwing Valkyries. You are now one of us for the rest of your days."
These were the words that would seal my fate from here on out.

Ever since then I was introduced to the guild as a new member and quickly grew as an assassin. I met Takumi, the official trainer of the guild, and we trained in grueling conditions. Rain, snow, sleet, storms, or earthquakes, it didn't matter. We were becoming weapons of war against the shade and all that represented it. I slept in the bunkers with the other fledglings until I quickly climbed the rankings into professional assassin and I was taking jobs left and right. Eventually, when pairing was implemented into the assassin job program, I met Shadowflare and Stormseige. The three of us were tasked with more public missions. Shadowflare could remove memories, and me and Stormseige would be there mainly as backup, seeing as Flare wasn't exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch. We worked together for a while after we were formed. I could not understand Stormseige's language without Shadowflare's help, but I learned body language to some degree. I had to guide Shadowflare constantly while on missions, minimizing breaks and pet keeping as much as possible. She really had to stop picking up dragons off the street to enter into the guild before we're exposed. Luckily she's dumb enough to just follow through with her job.
It was months after we were put into the same group when they introduced the new guy to help with weaponry. And well... you know the rest.

"That I do!" Stargazer responded as I finished my story, "I know quite well what happened next. We met in the smithy, you asked for a few of your blades to be fixed, I asked if you wanted enchantments, you said no, you came back, and then bada-bing bada-boom! Mates!"
"Yeah. Sure," I said, "Mates..."
"Oh don't look so down! You're still your old grumpy self are you not?" he asked cheerfully, wagging his arms around like a grumpy old man. I sighed and shook my head.
"You are an embarrassment," I said, turning away and putting up my talons as if to suggest to "talk to the claw". The arcanesmith had the audacity to laugh at me as I walked away into the den's kitchen to grab my tea as the kettle screamed at me to take it off the stove.
"And I always will be, lovebug," he said as his laughter died down. I rolled my eyes and snorted, ending the topic there.
