Kalaph

Though he is kind, Kalaph is a proud fellow. He never admits to needing help with anything, often to his detriment. He is the embodiment of "This is fine, this is just fine" as the room around him is ablaze in flames. Nonetheless he is a lover of stories (though he is abysmal at telling them) and when he is not working his rather unnerving brand of magic, is just a somewhat disappointingly ordinary dragon.



Kalaph was your standard mirror in a happy go lucky mirror pack. He hunted, he slept, he lazed in the sun, he squabbled with his packmates. It all changed when he discovered the strange energies swarming inside of his blood. After a devastating accident that ruined a hunt and left several of his packmates gravely wounded, he was summarily exiled from his pack.

He wandered after that, for how long he could not say. The magic surged in him and took hold. With no way to control or understand it, he was at its mercy and did as it willed. It was a miserable existence, and a frightening one. Eventually he collapsed, lost in a maelstrom of magic he was helpless to resist any longer. A comforting presence tore through the storm to ease him and guide him. Days? Weeks? Time was irrelevant, but eventually he found himself again in the kind and patient eyes of a young tundra.

Suferi, unwavering in the face of such destructive power, taught him the basics of control and how to bend the energies to his will. His gratitude and her patience blossomed into an unbreakable bond of love and trust. They decided to form their own clan, vowing to harbor magelings and teach those most in need how to harmonize with their power.
