One day, a Veilspun was born. A Shadow ancient, the elders did not accept him lest he would give their thousands of years work of hiding away... He ran away, his parents melancholy. They were happy their work wouldn’t be ruined but their child... He ran and ran, he finally found a nice family who mended to his wounds from running away, they fed him, named him and accepted him. They were one of the families amongst the Light clan, they accepted him not knowing what specimen he was, but they didn’t care. He was a part of their family now. Soon enough he grew and he had to look for a more permanent home. Lumen promised he would visit now or then, he said these exact words “I love you no matter what, you took care of me and nothing can fill that debt, thank you. I promise I’ll visit,”. He also yearned for a mate, yes his temporary family gave him love but he wanted the other kind of love, the everlasting bond of a mate. Soon enough he stumbled along another clan’s lair. It was so diverse Lumen knew he could fit right in, he went up to the leader. “Hello, may I join your lair?” The leader responded “Hello there young child, you wanted to join my lair eh? Well tell me something about yourself,”. “Well I ran away as a hatchling, I found a nice family and they treated me well, they fixed my wounds, fed me, and played with me. I didn’t run away this time, I told them I left and wanted a permanent home and a mate,”. “Interesting, interesting,” the imperial said. We talked some more and then finally... “Welcome to the clan! Get yourself comfy-“ then the imperial wandered off in his thoughts. Lumen was so happy! He found a nice patch on the meadow in the clan grounds, he lay down drifting asleep. “Helloooo, you there sleepyhead?” the dragon said in a sing-song voice. I mumbled. How long was I out? Oh well I chided myself. “Hello? Who are you?” Lumen replied sleepily. The other dragon was a stunning specimen of Lumen’s specimen... “Umm, hi. I’m Luminosity,” she replied awkwardly. “Who are you then?” Luminosity asked me nervously. “Oh, I’m Lumen. Nice to meet you, but uh did you have to wake me from my nap?” Lumen said “Same to you and normally I wouldn’t wake someone in the middle of their nap, anyway boss wants to see you,” she nudged him up. We started walking down the hill... |
