Othree

**Not contiguous with the rest of the clan's lore. We just ignore it.**


*Othree is pronounced with a short o- as in object and a soft -th- as in zither.*

Othree wants to help people by using the special primal abilities he was born with, and has neglected other possibilities and skills. He spends his free time (scant as it is) reading about history, monsters, old battles and strategy, and science. He would enjoy a game of chess if he had anyone to play with. He tends to give any spare treasure to his favorite charity, Skeptos Sparks for Change, which keeps hatchlings off the street, since he does not hoard anything. His room is rather spartan in appearance, holding mostly practical things and a small box of indistinct rocky lumps from his birth clan, coral-encrusted "artifacts" collected from around Fishspine Reef. He would like to swim more, but there is nowhere in Skeptos to do so and his agility has suffered greatly as a result.

He has great faith in the knowledge that Good will defeat Evil, and will intervene if he sees someone being cruel to the weak and young. Though Othree is of simplistic thinking, he is not stupid, just naive.

Othree uses his abilities of "prophecy" (more like a spidey-sense) to detect workplace accidents before they occur and stop them. He came to Skeptos in Lightning territory because there was an overabundance of such skills in the Sea of a Thousand Currents... and, though he doesn't tell people this, he felt that something pulled him here.


After the Flood

Sometimes change brings freedom. Othree and the rest of HAVOC's chosen guests that fateful night were taught that, through much pain and anguish. He wonders about them sometimes, Syble and Void and Ssare and all the rest. The memories are beginning to pass into that far-off state like a dream. He knows they happened, though. The violet deathmarks across his fur are proof of that.

After the ordeal, Othree remained in Skeptos. People needed help, and he knew the city. People as far apart as the Tower and the Undercity wanted to know his opinion on what needed to change. He is no politician, and doesn't want to be, but he is now the community coordinator for Skeptos Sparks for Change - which has widened its net from caring for orphaned hatchlings to assisting just about any Skeptos citizen in need.

He's also a part-time safety inspector on his own terms, and is in training to improve his control of his primal abilities past something that is more frustrating than helpful. His biggest struggle is probably with anxiety. People keep telling him that he shouldn't be expected to know the future all the time and he doesn't need to always be preparing for possible catastrophe, but what do they know? They haven't seen what could have been.
