Salvus was raised by a powerful mage and his caring mate. The mirror was an oddity, adopted into a peaceful commune of scholars after he was found alone and half-frozen as a hatchling. Salvus eagerly took to Hestia's warm embrace, spent his first few days there nestled almost exclusively in her feathers. It wasn't long before Salvus took eagerly to his new foster father too, chasing dancing lights that the wildclaw made for him and before long, begging Papillon to try and teach him what he knew.
While an Ice dragon by nature, healing came much more naturally to him than most, something he credits to the excellent teaching of his parents. Salvus was a devoted student, practicing first on getting flowers to grow in the cold wastes of the Southern Icefield, and moving onto channeling that energy into dragons when he mastered it. To this day, Salvus keeps up with his practice even when there's not many injuries to be found by keeping flowers in perfect bloom, both on him and in his lair.
As much as Salvus adored his previous clan and his parents, there simply wasn't the need for a healer there, so with a heavy heart and heartfelt goodbyes, Salvus set off from his parents to go where he'd be needed.
Of course, that place ended up being the Moonlit Refuge.
