Shine came to this clan wounded and exhausted, but clearly with a fighter's mentality. Most clan members sensed she best be left alone for the first days, to recover from her mysterious and obviously rough journey. However, as time passed, the other dragons grew impatient with Shine's behavior. She singled herself out, didn't take part in any group-related activities, and barely came out of her nook if not necessary. The fire that had been in her eyes when she had arrived, seemed to be going out.
Weeks passed, and still the silence had not been broken. Until a young male Coatl named Ervin made his appearance. Bubbly and enigmatic, he had the clan's attention in no time. Every dragon made it a point to be liked by Ervin, except for one. Shine's silence made Ervin curious, and it prompted him to visit her every day. For a few weeks not much seemed to change. He'd bring her fresh fish, or some flowers, or a trinket he'd found that day during scavenging. Slowly but surely, Shine warmed up to this handsome male, and with him to the others. It didn't take long before they nested three eggs, which brought Shine back in touch with her old self. She flourished, enjoying life with her little and big family by her side. Her contributions in the hunting pack didn't go unnoticed, and soon she was made leader of the pack.
Whilst still reserved to strangers, Shine is now the dragon most turn to for words of advice. She always makes it a point to realize how lucky they all are to be living like this. She's never confided anyone into what horrors she must have faced in her past, but nobody doubts that she appreciates her life as it is now.
