Biography

GLADIOLUS
Warrior | Leader
nature_banner.png

There are few people in the Domain as widely respected as Sylvanus; Gladiolus is one of them. He is considered by many to be the "real" leader of the Domain, despite his repeated insistence that this is not the case. Similarly, he is commonly referred to as "the Allfather of the Garden"-- this, too, he very strongly objects to. Regardless, they carry on. He often feels very embarrassed about the fact that so many people hold him in such high esteem, and he works hard to make sure that everyone around him feels valued and appreciated as a result.
Gladiolus is a fighter; he always has been. He doesn't like to talk about his past as a gladiator, despite the fact that it's pretty obvious from his name-- like many who have been a part of Sylvan for a long time, he thinks of it as a past life. All that matters to him now is who he has been since he came here.

Here and now, he fights alongside the Allfather to protect the clan, and hunts to feed it. He is a vicious fighter, but not a vicious person; he works very hard to make sure that no one is frightened of him. There is nothing that makes him sadder than someone who is scared of him. Generally, he is very even and composed, and tries hard to be kind. Many dragons come to him to help resolve their disputes, because they know that his judgements are always thoughtful and honest.
In his past life, he was not a patient man; now, however, he spends many hours a day in meditation, which has helped him to become a more patient person. Despite this, he still has trouble interacting with children. He tends to treat them as he would adults, which works out only some of the time-- since he doesn't quite know what to do with them, he tends to avoid them when he can. (Also, he would never say it, but he worries sometimes that he could hurt them; they are so small and delicate.)
