Ariaira is a fallen "angel". She was a servant of the Icewarden, serving to their needs in most respects and serving as an ambassador of a sort as her position was raised further. Not everything was pretty exaltation, however. She began to loathe her work, being forced to always answer to a higher authority. Deity hardly makes one in awe, if one spends time near it constantly. One night she snuck away, having finally had enough of the Icewarden's demands. The wings she had been adorned with turned dark and horns sprouted from her head, corrupted banners marking her forever as a traitor.

She soon found a reason to live, and that was in Torn. The blind guardian attracted her in a way no other dragon had, and she wanted to live near her. She now participates, staying by Torn's side, even helping out with duties as a guard, appreciating the relative freedom this smaller clan offers.
