Opalwing had never really felt like she belonged. She had bounced around from clan to clan when she was younger, finally deciding to make her way on her own. She just couldn’t find anywhere she wanted to call home, and even though the clans she had stayed with as a youngster weren’t horrible, she had always felt out of place. That was, until Aquarust came along.

The Imperial had had quite a different upbringing, deeply loved by her parents and her birthclan. And yet, she had had the same feeling of being an outsider that plagued Opalwing. So Aquarust had left her birthclan, in search of a place where she would feel like she belonged.

The pair first met while traveling in the Viridian Labyrinth. Since they were both on their own, they often wound up staying at inns and taverns as they journeyed, and one night, they both happened to enter the very same tavern. They exchanged a few words, merely greeting a fellow traveler before retiring for the evening. The very next night, however, they bumped into one another again, each breaking into a grin when they recognized the other. Be it fate or random chance, the two seemed to be traveling in the same direction. After talking it over and realizing how much they had in common, Aquarust and Opalwing decided to become travel companions. They’ve been together ever since, still searching for a permanent home, but each knowing they had already found a lifelong companion in the other.
