Biography
Lumiyo- Quartermaster- The Playful Snow
Theme Song
Mate: Melody (On and Off)
Quirk: Hisses loudly whenever something isn't in its proper place.
Lumiyo seems playful, but he has a calculated mind- he is in charge of the stocks of food for all of the dragons, as well as the treasure. He knows when the clan needs to find more of something, or when they have enough. While he isn't a frontline fighter, he is vital to the clan. Due to his position, he is very close to Magnus, who guards the Treasury. Lumiyo was not born with the Clan, but joined them due to a dislike of the land of Lightning- Lumiyo much prefered colder climates, and since he blends in quite well with the snow on a dark night, he enjoys his time in the Southern Icefield.
Born in the harsh deserts of the Shifting Expanse, Lumiyo's colors were immediately regarded as a bad omen. His beautiful white and black plumage was often mocked by his brothers and sisters, and he was often banned from playing team games with them (whichever team he was on would ALWAYS lose). Many would let this bother them, but not Lumiyo. Bright and clever from an early age, he would simply spend time on his own, running calculations and figuring out equations to suit his need. When his parents weren't looking, he'd strike deals and make bargains with his siblings- their lack of studies would allow Lumiyo to manipulate them, and he'd always win in the end.
It became clear that Lumiyo was the breadwinner of the hatchlings, and he was soon taking part in studies of engineering to help serve the Stormcatcher. Lumiyo quickly grew bored with the science, and decided to entertain himself with other hobbies- he would write, read, perform complicated math sequences, or study history. He would always continue a hobby until he dropped it from boredom. It was only a matter of time until his feelings of boredom drifted to the Shifting Expanse itself. Eventually, growing weary of the hot climate and repetitive lifestyle, Lumiyo decided to leave.
His family was very unhappy with his decision. They attempted to plead and reason with him. Lumiyo was destined for greatness! He had the sharpest mind of the hatchlings, and the coolest head. But Lumiyo had all of his cards ready. In mild, sweet tones, he lamented the fact that he would love to stay- however, as his siblings had consistently pointed out, he was bad luck- it was clearly visible in his plumage. He insisted his departure was for his family's sake. Unable to argue, his family let him go. Lumiyo flew away from them with a satisfied smirk on his face.
Lumiyo had no desire for greatness. He simply wanted a change of scenery, a quiet life. He decided to move to the edge of the world- the Southern Icefield seemed perfect for his taste. Lumiyo made his rounds through various Clans, putting his mind and skills to the test- he would calculate their amounts of gold, divide up food shares equally, and solve problems of resource management. He continued on until he was well known in the Icefield. Given nicknames like the "Snowy Calculator", he eventually made camp in the Azeryx Clan. After he turned their treasury upside down and reorganized their materials, Hallow approached Lumiyo before his departure. Hallow asked what he could do for Lumiyo in return. Lumiyo pondered the offer curiously- very few dragons offered him anything in return for his services. What few returned the favor had already given Lumiyo everything he wanted. Lumiyo told Hallow all he desired was a quiet life. Hallow responded by asking if Lumiyo wanted to have one with the Clan. Playing with the idea in his mind, Lumiyo accepted.
Lumiyo has an on-and-off mateship with Melody. Lumiyo tends to turn a blind eye towards Melody's less-than-wonderful traits. He claims that he sees the good and kindness in her, buried under a lot of malice and pride. He is also regarded as a pleasant father figure to Kingsley.
Lumiyo isn't useful in battle as a fighter, but he is a clever strategist. He is able to plan and make moves around the enemy, so while he isn't even a part of the fighting dragons, they often listen to him. He is sometimes nicknamed "Chessmaster" because of this, while his son Kingsley is "Chess Junior". Still, Kingsley is considered smarter than Lumiyo.
Lumiyo rarely loses his temper, but if someone knocks anything out of place or does something that messes with his storage, he will hiss in annoyance at them until they leave him alone. A cardinal rule of the clan is to NOT get on Lumiyo's nerves.
Lumiyo was a key strategist when fighting Shredder's forces. In the aftermath, he is currently working hard to collect resources to restore the Clan.
Lumiyo is on good terms with everyone in the clan, but he gets annoyed by Vivid.
"You'll never see him fighting on the front lines. If you see him on the battlefield, you've already lost." -Yurallia
"Benevolent and clever- a perfect quartermaster!" -Sven
"Now before you all go out and fight off intruders, could one of you kindly go get me some Nickel Ore? We're running rather low." -Lumiyo's playful nature
