Biography
Ankyra
The Control
The Control
Ankyra is very small, and he is a veilspun, the son of two primal shadow dragons. His eyes don't match his parents' eyes, though, and he didn't feel at home in the Sea, even though his eyes were as blue as the water around them. He always felt out of place.
So when a neighboring clan mentioned offhandedly to his family that one of their own was answering a summons and going to the Plateau to render aid to a clan there, he offered to come along. He was a veilspun, after all, and he had... unique abilities that might come in handy, for he pried and learned a little more about the circumstances surrounding Scyldi's departure, and realized how useful he could be.
So he and Scyldi both flew to the Plateau to meet with the Wide Sky clan. When the clan saw what they had to work with, they accepted his aid as well, and brought the many-eyed wildclaw out of his induced sleep. Ankyra was there when the wildclaw first opened his eyes, and when Scyldi worked her magic, he watched as the wildclaw finally, for the first time in his life, freely understood who he was.
Now, Ankyra spends his time with Actias and Scyldi. The wildclaw has a deep hatred of being controlled by others - with one exception. If Actias slips, and the song of the sea echoes too loudly in his mind, Ankyra, and Ankyra alone, is allowed to spring into action and hover before any of his eyes, charming him into complacency. He can hold the wildclaw there for as long as he must for Scyldi to bring her shield up again, and then free him.
If this happens, they have to go out for ice cream or some other treat, though, because it leaves all three of them with a sour taste, and Actias is a huddled mess for the rest of the day. Ankyra always feels bad about this, but there's not a whole lot he can do; he knows Actias doesn't hate him for it, and that it's the best thing for them to do. He just wishes it weren't necessary. It usually isn't, and most of the time, Ankyra can spend his days with his friends, relaxing.
Ankyra enjoys fishing, though he isn't very good at it. He likes charades, but can't play for the risk of hypnotizing someone.
