Biography

Ranseur, the Siren
[pro/nouns]

Emmandine Ranseur was born on a pirate's galleon to a boatswain's mate father and the cook's own servant girl. At the time, that galleon was crewed by the renowned Greyglare Simon, a swashbuckler that gave no quarter and took no prisoner. He kept his rowdy crew together with promises of ale and treasure, and equally did not care what they did as long as it meant no man or woman needed to be tossed overboard or strung from the stern to skim along the waters' surface. As such, she was one of a number of babies that ended up being conceived and came into life aboard that great ship, the Glacier's Edge.

Her earliest memories were comprised of singing for scraps of food, and being taught footwork and fencing by the first mate. The crew treated her as well as you can expect a group of drunk seamen and women treat a child, and her home was the sea. She yearned to join the grand battles launched by Greyglare, and after her mother passed and was buried at sea that longing for the ocean only intensified. If anyone around her wondered if there was any deeper meaning as to why she stared out at the depths so, they never questioned her.

Ranseur's loyalty to the captain was so strong that at a point where her own father was accused of treason, she was the first to point her blade at him. She turned as the captain slit his throat, and instead cast her gaze out to her beloved ocean.

Then one day, she turned twenty, and the sea was beset with a furious storm. They shipwrecked, and she was the first to volunteer as shore party in order to search for wood to patch up the galleon with. She followed the party to the jungle, and quickly got separated due to her unfamiliarity with land terrain. Completely alone and lost, she stumbled around until she came to an open bay, and there saw
