Belid is an wandering bard hailing from the lands of Shadow, though he has been all over Sornieth. He tends to attach himself to other, more powerful dragons and sing songs of their adventures until they inevitably grow tired of him and, well, leave. He's quite used to being left behind at this point, he doesn't really take it as a personal insult anymore.

Eventually he stumbled into the Sanctuary and fell in love at first sight—newcomer and fellow outsider Jade was quite simply the most beautiful dragon he had ever laid his eyes upon, in all his years. He glued himself to her side and she seemed happy enough to allow him to remain there... all the while she quietly pieced together her plan to usurp Rumbler, 'the mother'.

Well, when Jade did inevitably take over and adopt role of tyrant, Belid wasn't exactly pleased. The two had quite a falling out, and their children were largely left in the hands of Jade... Belid wasn't exactly the most fatherly of dragons.

But, in time, Jade herself was usurped when the Magisterium was established. Now with the title of Magister, Jade was no more than a politician. Eventually Belid and Jade drifted back together, although their relationship still, to this day, remains slightly tenuous.
