Raucous laughter tears through the Great Hall, a small passage off the side of the greater tunnel known as Veilhome. Here nightly gathers the inhabitants of this cave to discuss the days events, often embellished and always attempting to entertain. These meetings can get quite rambunctious as the night wears on, and Gin is struggling to bear it. Her mate is long gone, dismissing himself early every night, always with a different excuse. She knows that he also dislikes the frantic atmosphere, however, being the heads of the clan, one of the pair must dutifully sit and endure for the public eye. Eyes glazing over as Alligator nigh on yodels over her terrific find digging around the mouth of the cave, the figurehead begins to mull over thoughts of the forest beyond. She wonders what life there is to be found, if hatchlings leave the cave then why can’t she? Abruptly this train of thought is severed by a large greenish lump thrust towards her, with the bright pink Veilspun insisting that the object is none other then a 55 karat emerald.
