B I O G R A P H Y

______ Who says a warrior cannot love books?

______ Here I stand before you, a fighter like yourselves. I have seen battle in the Coliseum, defended our home against the Beastclans. It is our way, that we may continue to exist and flourish.

______ Still, it is not the only way. As the body requires exercise and the spirit seeks the gods, so the mind hungers for ideas in order to grow strong.

______ Books are for all who care to read them. The Great Sanctum Library welcomes every single dragon who visits, whether from curiosity, skepticism, or the desire to learn - as it welcomed me, when first I came here to ask: What is it that I was born to do?

______ And the answer was: Stay, and find out.

______ So I stayed, and somehow never left. I found myself clearing up after other patrons had gone, indexing, organizing, replacing each volume on its shelf, dusting (!) and sweeping (!!) I could not rest without making sure that all was in order. And each day, I would find some obscure book that caught my attention, that I just had to read. How could I go? My mind hungered, and was satisfied; I repaid the Library's largesse with service, as best I could.

______ When the structure began to collapse, we all rushed to save what we could. More books lie buried in the rubble, and I am determined to rescue and restore every last one. The Library's present state is unfortunate, but not irredeemable. What started as a catastrophe is now our chance to rebuild - to create a better home for both knowledge and those who seek it.

______ I did not know then what I know now: that I had found my place.

______ These days, I am a warrior who loves books.

______ I am a Librarian.
