"We can't just let her go on her own when she's older!" Arazia eavesdropped on her parent's conversation, they were arguing back and forth about Arazia's bright colouring, how she wouldn't make it far in the dense forest with all the hunters venturing each day for their weekly poachings. They weren't wrong about it though, she would be a high value target due to her brightly colored scales, which would sell for high amounts of treasure if she was caught. Now a month old, her parents are more overprotective than ever, since Arazia would be leaving in a week or so to start her own life, which was exactly what they didn't want.
Arazia had a plan.
She had come up with a plan, though quite generic to say the least, her idea was to run away from her parent's grasp while they were sound asleep in their den. At the moon's peak, Arazia's mission had begun. She carefully wove around the various trinkets and appliances in their home, keeping her wings pressed flat to her body and her head low, she had successfully left the house, but where would she go now? Arazia had made herself somewhat comfortable in a fairly large tree, due to her parents annoying helicopter parenting, she had never gone further than their front yard, if you could call it that. It was much for her to suddenly take in, but she knew she could adjust quickly to her new environment, and she did. After countless days of roaming the dense overgrowth and large trees, she had found herself at a clearing and what seemed to be a large pool of gleaming water, curious, she went to investigate. |

Arazia approached the circular pool of shining water, looking down at her reflection, she raised her brows, now she realizes what her parents meant about her bright, unique colouring, especially for a forest veilspun. Arazia cautiously dipped a finger in the pool of water, which was the biggest mistake of that moment, but not for long. Her vision twisted and her stomach churned, she was in great amounts of pain but had to keep quiet otherwise she'd give herself away. Exhausted from the pain, she fell unconscious beside the pool of water, which is known as the Moonpool. Arazia awoke the next morning to her sight completely normal, she was no longer in pain, but there was one thing different, the appearance of her eyes, and her new ability. She looked over into the Moonpool, examining herself, when she noticed her eyes, she no longer had pupils, but instead a dark swirl covering her whole eye, she was almost hypnotizing herself by her unbreaking stare into the water, until the ripple of the water in the wind broke her focus. She looked up from the Moonpool, turning to look behind, she climbed up the large willow that leaned over the pool of water, looking over the clearing, she already knew this was going to be her new home. |
