Homosite/Sapiosite/"The Human Crystal"

This crystal was originally found on a statue in Celestial City in 2026. This crystal was coded with strange encryptions and when it came into contact with a car's processor it would forcefully make them into humans with no hopes of returning to car form. Named after mankind's species name, Homosite was later used in developing the Morphing Crystal.

The Dawn Crystal

Invented/Discovered by Scientists Jennifer and Barry

"The Dawn Crystal is actually a sliver of Kiadine mineral encrypted with code that rewrites the processor of any "dormant" car or truck and allows it to become self aware. Once awakened, the vehicle can talk, express and feel emotion; and most importantly, it can love. The final emotion is what humanity oversaw in its haste to wipe us off Earth even after we became conscious. No matter how much we loved our owners, we were always scrap to them. And you wonder why our race rarely contacts theirs.
The crystal's creation was an interesting one; a college student named Jennifer had a crazy scientist as a professor named Barry. Nobody liked him and he was a weird but harmless dude. He spent his days studying vehicular code, hoping he could gather significant findings and earn a huge grant to create the world's first sentient-autonomous vehicle. After many failed attempts of doing so on his own, he had a theory that he could use his soul as a life source. He built a machine he had hoped had the ability to share his essence with his mother's Jeep Compass, but instead the machine put his soul into the Jeep and somehow took the Jeep's essence and put it in Barry's human body. During the switch, a decorative quartz crystal had fallen off the shaking shelf nearby and was zapped by energy, encrypting it with the code to create just what Barry had been searching for years. It was so extraordinary, Barry didn't even seem to care he was trapped in a Jeep so long as he finally achieved his dream. He had Jennifer and Koda the human-turned Compass to assist him, and thankfully Koda could translate the various car noises Barry could make into instructions for a voice box and a front-end modification that could let him express emotion again.
Later, they also used the machine to put a dog's soul into Barry's mom's new Kia Sorrento. Barry's mom was cursed with sentient vehicles and a crazy son, apparently.

SFW Description of the Conception System

Even though it should be self explanatory (or maybe it shouldn't, who am I to judge but I figured we were all cars here and know how it works), the system is actually a lot more complicated than you might expect.
GAT and Dawnrise soldiers' systems work in tandem with Kiadine and produces a human baby since an onboard assembly system to produce a Power Wheels-sized car would be far too big for any female. That baby is born with Kiadine already in its bloodstream, meaning it is born morph capable and should they ever decide to leave their agency after growing up, they would have to have it removed.
Eventually, usually at some point between 7 months to a year, the baby chooses to morph into a car and can't usually morph back until they have the mental capacity of a 7 year old human child. From this point onward, they don't require milk or diaper changes! What a revolutionary invention.
The Kiadine addition also allows the kid to grow even as a car, from a perfect smaller version of whatever model they are to their full size, in about 5 to 8 years depending on what kind of vehicle they are. The smaller they are, the quicker they grow up.

The Convertor

Invented/Discovered by Ex-Green Acres President, Loki

The cars, once on the run from the humans, had no easy way to fuel up; gas stations were guarded like country borders, every innocent human needing thoroughly investigated before being allowed to fuel up. Any Classican that would have attempted it would have been instantly confiscated and destroyed.
Nevertheless, cars became hungrier and hungrier, some becoming immobilized once their fuel reserves ran dry. Hybrid and all-electric technology didn't and still doesn't work with sentient automobiles as they run an entire different system compared to the cars that are compatible with Kiadine. A conversion would mean death to a car awakened by the crystal.
What was the answer? Loki engineered a super powerful three-tank system that converted any food with high protein levels into usable gasoline or diesel (though a diesel can easily munch through a field of corn or drink a tank of old McDonald's fry oil and be good to go as well). This meant the vehicles could now eat meat and dairy, and said meat and dairy would be converted over into fuel. The old system required tons of food per gallon and it could take hours for the food to become fuel. These days, conversion is instant and one whole fried chicken is good for as much as 15 or up to 35 miles worth of gas depending on the gas mileage of the car. Diesels' mileage runs slightly higher.
The convertors for each work slightly differently to convert into different fuel.
Assuming the car is gasoline, he first uses his modified front end equipped with a mouth that is also used for verbal communication. Most cars have a bite force more powerful than a hippopotamus thanks to the hydraulic mechanisms in our bumpers. Think of us as extreme animatronics whenever you wonder how we use our mouths.
Anyway, the food passes down a steel pipe called the gullet, and from there it drops directly into the first chamber of the convertor. Specifically bioengineered enzymes break down the food proteins and starts turning everything into gasoline. The system automatically pushes the mush into the next chamber, where it further marinates in another colony of enzymes and bacteria, and the liquid strains out from anything solid remaining into the final chamber, where detergents are added to the fuel. Usually our systems are efficient in burning off the waste in a separate hot tank, but occasionally problems arise where a mechanic needs to service it and clear it of burnt soot. Yummy!

ADAPT-X Suspension

Based on traditional lowrider suspension but not as dexterous, ADAPT-X allows us to express ourselves through movement that our factory suspensions could never allow. While the design has been tweaked for better strength and reliability over the centuries, it's essentially the same now as it was in 2030, save for a few beefier parts.
Each tire is independent of the others, allowing us to lift each freely to wave at someone, keep weight off a damaged rim or ball joint, or paw the pavement. It's fun to drive around on 3 wheels too; impress your friends! Wheelies are somewhat dated, however.
Again, not as extreme as lowriders who can actually lie flat on the ground, we can also lower our front or rear ends a lot lower than factory Earth cars. This allows for bowing, crouching, and several other things.

The Morphing Crystal

Invented/Discovered by GAT Scientist Roderick Redline (2021-2089)

"Kiadine is the main mineral in the morphing crystal. It is much like quartz, as it stores retrievable memory. This is what allows us to freely morph anything.
The mineral that lets us change is the Toyotite. When in contact with Kiadine, it has a reaction that changes the DNA in the body and turns it into whatever creature or vehicle the user selects. You can have infinite morphs of one model of car, even if the nuances are miniscule.
To customize a specific morph, simply stay in that form and have whatever done; paint job, sick new wheels, audio system, your imagination is the limit! Even after you change back to your regular form, your work is saved within your new internal storage system. Same goes for humans; dye your hair, get a tattoo, etc.
A lesser known feature of the Morphing crystal is that it also allows you to morph an exact copy of anybody, down to their voices. In order to do this, you must touch them somewhere and focus on them; what you enjoy about the person, what they look like, imagining what it's like to be them. As the traces of the crystal in your DNA scan the target's DNA, it puts them into a trance that can last anytime from 15 minutes to an entire day. While in theory it can be used as the perfect emergency getaway, you really have to focus on everything you like about them, and that can be difficult when the said person is trying to hunt you down and/or kill you.
The Homosite works with the Kiadine to morph back into our normal formes or human formes. Typically, Homosite alone just morphs you into a human, hence Homosite. But when paired with the Kiadine, it acts as a rubber band, pulling your DNA back to normal. Alone, as previously stated, it lets us morph into humans.
The Vessel is what holds the minerals close enough together to morph when needed and yet far enough apart to keep accidental morphing from happening. The vessel mineral is typically Iceite, a clear, glittery mineral commonly found all over the 3 planets. This gives the crystal its luxurious appearance."

Sensory Grid

Invented/Developed By GAT Scientists Roderick Redline and Cobalt.

"The Sensory Grid is another old piece of technology still in use today. Cobalt and Rod teamed up to create this one, and they did such a good job that the systems on those currently are the exact same as the original ones.
The system is basically a grid of microscopic hexagon shaped sensory cells that covers every square inch of every car. This grid is hardwired straight to the processor, allowing us to feel about as accurately as human skin in most places, from the wind whipping over our hoods while on the road to large insects pelting us like hail.
(I would say the skin of some sort of creature, but there's usually a lot of hair going on there. Who knows what that feels like?)
As I was saying, as sensitive as human skin in most places, but more sensitive where the grid overlaps due to individual model lines (it's hard to get the grid perfect on a wavy car than a boxier one).

Ardorite ("The Love Crystal")

"Out of all the advanced weapons we possess, the most important and deadly piece of technology is Ardorite. There is no greater weapon than harboring the force of love at will, no matter the target.
When in contact with any car, no matter how hardened and emotionless they are, they will always fall in love with the first person of the opposite sex they see--and never fall back out of love. The interest can already be taken, in a coma, dead, involved in illegal things, and especially just overly uninterested in the infatuated subject while the infatuated subject simply cannot let their interest go. They have an eternal desire of endless, intense love towards them. This desire often leads to stupendously possessive behavior, and even to excessive emotional harm if the infatuated subject is continuously put off. The most well known infatuated subject, Dawnrise President Platinumstar, aka Cepheus, was the victim of a completely natural infatuation of Ardorite after he was kidnapped and stowed away in a deep cave system filled with the mineral. Though leading to the discovery and prevention of contact with Ardorite, Ceph's rescuer happened to be Jenna. It has been over 60 years, and Cepheus is still madly in love with her after nearly killing her partner, Jorgen several times in attempt to be with her. There are no unturned stones when it comes to him trying to be with Jen."

Icorid

"Icorid (Eye-Corrid) is a super strong mineral found plentifully in mile long veins under the crust of El Dorado and in small quantities along the surface of Prismona. When sprayed on top of the paint job of any vehicle or aircraft, it is over 10 times stronger than diamond each fraction of a centimeter it is applied. Meaning the thicker the Icorid is painted on, literally the only thing that can harm the machine is something coated with more Icorid. Tests with 100% successful results and 0% mortality rates with the lowest recommended Icorid layer thickness include but are not limited to:
"10 Hours Submerged in Magma"
"RPG Test"
"Mountain Rollover" (it was so satisfying getting to shove our enemies to roll down a mountain without feeling guilty knowing the couldn't die)
"Crusher Test" (we went through many crushers that day, usually the mortal enemy of us cars).

Interestingly, it adds a glamorous metallic clear coat to whatever color machine it's applied to, but colored Icorid coatings are being engineered.
As expected, this is a closely guarded technology that cannot fall into the wrong treads. Thankfully, the answer to an enemy with stolen Icorid technology is to figure out what thickness of Icorid they have painted on and to coat a bullet thicker. That is the only unfortunate limit of the mineral; it can always be stronger."

The Watch-A-Phone

"There have been many different processors and data companies tried with the system, but the classic sight of every human-turned resident to one of the local agencies adorning the teched-out watch on their right wrist is the first thing civilians think of. Though the very first WAP unit was based off a crude human smart watch stolen from an ex-owner after the Earth Escape of 2020, the company today solely makes accurately engineered hologram projecting wrist bands for the Vehicles of Service, always researching new details and features that can further help the heroes. The most recent model, the V-Sport RS, features complete immunity to over 40 elements, including lava, sand, vomit, and dragon gastrointestinal fluid thanks to its triple Icorid-coated exterior; sporty holographic heads-up display; finger print identification and unlock; voice command; and even an integral AI assistant known as Warren from the factory, but you now have options to rename it, change the gender, and assign an accent and even vocal tone so it can sound however angry or happy you want it to.

Inter-dimensional Teleportation (IdT)

Somebody had to have had an amazing processor to pull this one off. This transporter literally sends you to other dimensions!
The original theory was that since Rhemiarians can freely access other dimensions other than the one attached to the Overworld in which they died in, that having your soul or essence sent near Rhemiara could allow you to jump the gap and shoot you over the interdimensional firewall. Once you pass that, it's like using a cheat code that allows breaking through walls in a video game and having the ability to go anywhere you wish.
...Only, with a catch; the Rhemiarians have the power to hunt you down and drag you back to an acceptable zone if you enter a dimension where you shouldn't go or if somebody in the Overworld you came from wants you home.

Time Travel

IdT opened a pathway for time traveling as well; running on the same principle as IdT, you can shoot across time to limitless degrees. You can even time travel in a different dimension when paired with IdT!
The only issue is that while it was originally going to be available as an optional mass-available feature for Green Acres residents, but scrapped after one car, Halon, got a hold of it and caused the technology to be stolen by a time-hopping enemy named Caine. Caine attempted to disrupt our entire timeline and keep cars from ever getting off Earth. When that plan failed, he just tried to kill Jenna and Jorgen as toddlers. While he nearly succeeded, Jen managed to turn everything around and instead defeated Caine.

Advanced Flight System (AFS)

The flight systems we have today are high tech works of engineering. While guns and ammo are stored under the rocker panels; the wings, tail, spoiler, and rear thrusters are actually brought out by morphing into your "flight forme" because so much room is already taken up by the former. Since every model is unique, designing a flight system per car isn't an easy task; years were spent researching the aerodynamics of thousands of models and creating a custom system for each one, even extremely rare models. Bigger and heavier vehicles require longer wings and more powerful thrusters, while already aerodynamic sports and hyper cars don't need as heavy duty equipment. Trucks require "tail wings" that arch over their beds like Superbird spoilers.
The thrusters also have to be placed at correct places of the vehicle to maximize efficiency. The most iconic and unique placement of said thrusters are found on Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs, taking the place of their long, vertical taillights.

Chapter Two: Weaponry

Tazor-Matic II through V

"When people picture Jenna, they see her as the legendary heroine with her mystical TM-II blazing and shocking the electrical systems out of her enemies, even after you tell her this to her face and she quickly corrects and reminds you that the girl you were picturing wasn't her.
She hisses as she karate death chops the grille out of a Modernian sneaking up behind her.
Jokes aside, The Tazor-Matic was a simple failed prototype made famous by the girl who got us off Earth and saved our race. She was simply the only human at the time, and Rod didn't see any use in keeping a reject weapon he could never make full-scale size for car use anyway, so he gave it to her with instructions on how it worked.
How does it work? Well, since the high voltage shock couldn't penetrate the bare metal and fiberglass of its targets on its own, Rod designed it to first fire a large caliber bullet, the weapon also able to absorb the kickback. Faster than the eye can decipher a pause, it then shoots a bolt of super-heated electricity straight into the bullet hole that easily takes hold of the vehicle's electrical system and euthanizes the enemy with hardly any pain, other than the initial look of shock when he's first shot with the bullet. The speed of the fire and near simultaneous electrical release gives the TM-II its signature "Pow-TSAAP!!" sound.
Over the years, different designers devoted their time into up-scaling the TM-Series so more than just humans could make use of it. While they still failed to make it large enough for car-use, they created the III, IV, and the V. The III has more voltage capacity with higher amperage, the IV is both higher caliber and higher in power than even the III, and the newest advancement, the IV, is a full-out machine gun of fearsome zapping power, now ironically made famous by Jen's partner and Dawnrise president, Jorgen in human form."

Sound Amplifying Subwoofer (SASw)

"The SASw was created for cars that just can't use any other form of weaponry, such as guns or lasers. This amplified subwoofer produces basslines capable of shattering glass and damaging unprotected processor units. This model rarely kills anyone, though there are newer units totally capable of doing so.
When set to a lower setting, one car can easily handle the sound production of a concert in an open top stadium."

"The wide-spread release of Icorid called for a different sort of weapon. The HTM-II is an altered Tazor-Matic-II that releases a pulse of Homosite with the bolt of energy, turning the car into a human, making for an easy target for the bullet."

Warship-Model Pulsar Cannons

Bryon's ship was the first warship to come equipped with one of these hyper blasters that eventually became standard equipment on every district warship built thanks to its deadly power and precision.
The cannon or cannons are mounted under a concealed panel, usually on the roof or the wings if it's a duel system, and are only drawn after they charge to prevent enemies from compromising them. It takes a moment for the beasts to charge, though charge time growing shorter as better technology arises, and firing them has a chance to totally drain your fuel tank. While most ships have a tank just for the cannons or at least an auxillary tank to keep the ship steady for emergency landing, most smaller ships don't have the room.
The pulsar cannon fires a beam of supercharged light particles, destroying any ship in its path, Icorid-coated or not. Where Icorid is clear, some light can heat up the surfaces underneath, melting the target from the inside out. Only used in orbit, stray shots rarely reach the ground of nearby planets.

Sound Blaster

"This weapon was created by modifying an old SASw, reengineering it into a tool of mass destruction. Unable to be equipped onto a car without heavy CPU protection and upgraded glass, the SB is capable of blowing up electrical in surrounding vehicles, ships, and buildings and corrupting computers containing vital information. The shockwave itself easily shatters anything fragile and can dent metal. The deaf are also affected by this weapon.
