Tide always felt at war with herself but not until now had it been so horrible her parents not knowing what to do sent her away to a nature dragon named Periwinkle. They thought it could help Tide learn how to control her emotions, and win the fight inside of her.
When Tide got to the nature clan her parents told her to go to it wasn’t what she had expected. It was lively and everyone was smiling! When she asked a particularly goofy one where Periwinkle was, she said that Periwinkle was probably in the library like she always was. When Tide went to see her she found someone else entirely. She said her name was ShimmerScale and that Periwinkle had told her to help Tide find a familiar. When Tide heard this she protested because she wasn't a huge animal fan, but ShimmerScale was persistent. They went to the Bestiary and tried to find Tide a familiar. They tried everything that had to do with water from eels to frogs, but Tide didn't like any. Just as it looked like ShimmerScale was about to lose hope, a loud crash came from behind them. Out ran a baby Great tusk! it ran straight into Tide slamming her to the ground. Instead of continuing its rampage it stopped and licked her. it then started pushing against her wings like it wanted to play. After a life of being tense, Tide finally relaxed and scratched the little guy behind the ears. ShimmerScale starred! her jaw dropped.
“What is it?” Tide asked
“It's just that no one's been able to calm him down before”, she said.
Collecting herself Tide said,“ Well, I think I found my familiar.”
Then they both laughed.
