Biography

The Astrologist
VITREOU CHRYSO
(Vi∙tree∙ou Krai∙so)
"Perhaps this was fate."

He's an expert on all things star and space; well, at least as far as the clan is concerned. Vitreou is a mystery indeed. Whenever he's off on one of his long journeys to the Starwood Isles, he always looks to the night sky to find his way, and he arrives safely.

Aside from astrology, Vitreou has a particular interest in alchemy and brewing. He frequents Baldwin's brew to test new concoctions and learn even more recipes; to him, the list never seems to end.

"A talented individual. Vitreou is indeed experienced in many crafts; his knowledge is truly one-of-a-kind." -Ezna

"I knew he had potential when I first met 'em, but he's exceeded my expectations. It's a shame he isn't interested in joining the defense team. His magics could be something, alright." -Croton

"Vitreou? Vitreou, Vitreou... oh! That guy with the ominous blue fire? Right, right. I don't actually see him often, what with him living in the district and all. When he is out and about though, it's always midnight, and I'm obviously fast asleep by then. So... now that I think about it, I never really see him often." -Eirene

"Vit's real smart, I'll give you that. It comes in handy when I'm trying to come up with something more original; not to mention all the concoctions he could make. They come in very handy." -Lucifer

Scroll of Renaming Sapphire Name origin (an input by the player)

His name is derived from the word "Vitreous", a type of lustre that Sapphire gemstones posses.

About Lucifer...

I still remember the day it all started. It was a bright night, nearing the end of the eleventh month last year.

With no clouds dotting the sky, the moonlight shone in all its glory. It made the night unusually bright. In fact, I could spot the Emperor Luminax, lumbering its hulking form through the ruins. We’ve been warned to steer clear of its path at all times, though it rarely comes near the Sundial, where I reside.

After a while of searching, I finally spotted the deep crimson shimmer of Lucifer’s scales. His complexion never ceases to confound me, what with all the glimmering jewelry he adorns. Despite the rubies and glamour, his presence blended perfectly into the silent night. The trickster glanced to the side, giving me a perfect side profile. I couldn't help but stare. Basking under the moonlight, with that serene look in his eyes, he looked almost ethereal; nothing like the dragon Eirene described.

"He's like some sort of villain!" she had said over a mouthful of fish. "I swear, if I didn't know any better, it's like he was sent here to torment us! Did the boss lady seriously let him in?"

Breaking out of my reverie, I took a breath and strode forward. Before I could get his attention, the dragon's head abruptly turned to face me. His gaze seemed to pierce right through my head.
Almost immediately, his eyes had softened. "Oh-ho," he sang. "If it isn't the little Star Boy."
I decided not to question the nickname for now. I cleared my throat. "I'm Vitreou. Please do call me that. I believe you're Lucifer?"
"That's me!" the scoundrel grinned. "So, what brings you here, Vitreou?"
"Ah, I've heard quite a bit about you from... other clanmates. I simply wished to meet you." I've been meaning to ask him a few questions about his homeland, the Scarred Wasteland, but the words are stuck in my throat.
"Is that it? Really?" the other raised his brow.
"Erm," I hesitated, desperately trying to remember what to say. "Ah, I was meaning to ask you a few questions about your homeland."
"Ho. So that's what you're here for," he sighed. "Fine, ask away. I don't remember much though."
"That's alright. And thank you," I muttered, fumbling for my journal and quill.

I started with a simple question. "Uhm. First of all, how old were you when you were taken into this clan?"
Lucifer scrunched his brow. "A little over 5 days, I think?"
"So... would you say that you remember your homeland well?"
"Probably not," he sighed, picking at the jewels that adorned his talons. They let out mysterious, curling wisps of red smoke. "Spent most of my days inside. Newborns can't exactly run around willy-nilly, y'know?"
"Ah. Right." In some cases, though, hatchlings are simply born very energetic. It reminds me of a certain Spiral.
Clearing my throat, I quickly moved on with the questions. "Could you give a brief description of your home clan?"
Lucifer huffed, then fell silent for a moment, brows furrowed. When he finally spoke, his tone wavered from the usual confident demeanor. In fact, he sounded almost aloof. "I really don't know, man. Spent most of my days inside the nest sleeping and eating, with a price tag around my neck."
"A-A price tag?"
The devil snorted out a chuckle. "Not literally; you know what I mean. Chill."
His attitude is rather appalling. I duly took note. I'm assuming he spent his days as a hatchling in the Auction House. Not uncommon for a lot of hatchlings, though I can't say I've experienced it myself. Then again, I pondered, most hatchlings don't realize they're in the Auction House in the first place.
Lucifer had started fidgeting with his jewelry again. The metal made soft clinks against his talons. Perhaps this was a touchy subject.

Just as I was about to move on with a different question about his eyes, Orion sprung into view and curled around my head. He stared at me with those uncomfortably large Spiral eyes of his.

"Hey Vit, it's about time we grab dinner, don't you think?" the Spiral chirped.
I tried batting him off my snout. "Er, Orion, I'm sort of in the middle of-"
"Your little friend's right." It was Lucifer's voice. "If we don't hurry, there won't be any left for us. C'mon, let's grab dinner."
Orion let out a happy sound and flew out of sight, while Lucifer had already begun to walk away leisurely. I begrudgingly got up and followed suit. Well, the interview will simply have to wait.
