Biography
Abandoned as a newborn child, Chaaya was left to fend for herself in the Tangled Wood. In a forest surrounded by creatures of the unknown, her instincts had to kick in soon or she would perish. For a while, she wandered through the dark forest, feeding off of glowing bugs and lizards, and eventually finding her way out of the woods, but unfortunately on the border of the Scarred Wasteland. It reeked of death and decay, but Chaaya couldn't give up. She had to go on. Maybe out there, she could find her mother, her father, her family.
But of course, there was nothing but the raging contagion that was spreading throughout the land. The nights were cold and hungry. There was nothing but scraps and bones, which did nothing but make Chaaya sick and vomit. At night, she would desperately cry out for her family, hoping for any response. At some point, she was attacked viciously by an Infestation Hound when she had mistaken it for another carcass. It slashed at her leg, creating a huge gash that would very soon come to be infected. So she hid in a small ditch, bleeding, hungry, and sick.
Fortunately, during that night, a female Fae named Lugia heard her cries and came to her rescue. Lugia took the child home to her Clan and raised her inside her den with her mate, Brajah. Chaaya was placed next to Lugia's newest brood of eggs and was treated to her wounds by the Clan healers. Lugia and Brajah decided to adopt the child as their own, but they along with the rest of their Clan were in awe of the baby dragon they had decided to nurse.
Just what was the child? She didn't look like any other breed that had been around Sornieth. However, there have recently been rumors of an ancient breed of dragon called Veilspuns remerging from the Shadowbinder's domain within the Tangled Wood. Perhaps, this was what the other Clans were talking about?
Upon welcoming the child into the Clan of the Black Sun, which was led by Lugia and Brajah, the whole Clan agreed on the name, Chaaya, which meant "Shade." Chaaya was also given a Willowmane Deering named Wister as a companion to keep her secure as her new Clanmates watched over her as she grew.
