Lena has had a troubled and long life. She is elderly, and in those many years has faced all manner of hardship. Being a Guardian, she was supposed to find a charge to take care of. However, wherever she looked, she never found that someone or something to protect.

Shunned by her people, she set off on a pilgrimage all across Sornieth that took many, many years. And yet... still nothing. She eventually gave up, settling down in the clan that would become the foundation of the Citadel, a clan which at the time had no other Guardians. She could not face her kind with her shame. She had a family with a male Skydancer, who she had lied to and claimed him to be her charge. He was a very narcissistic and selfish dragon, and being a Guardian's charge inflated his ego. When her lack of attachment came to light, he left Lena, taking one of their clutch and leaving Lena with the other two.

It wasn't until very late in her life when she found Zeil, a similarly elderly and curious Veilspun dragon making her first venture from her shadowy home. For a long time, she was a rather depressed dragon, though always doing her best to act as the leader her clan saw her as. After meeting Zeil, she became much happier, a glowing version of the Guardian her friends once knew. She is an advisor to her son Meophio and relays information from him to the Outskirts and vice versa. She is a family dragon, and adores her children and their families.
