Making the decision to leave was easy. In a family of mages, being the only one that could barely use magic made me an outcast. I trained in other ways, honing my skill both in using and crafting blades. Father was never pleased with me, we came from a long line of spellcasters and here I am, the firstborn son of the great Frutex and I can barely flicker a flame. My sister is a great mage, and when she left to go travel the whole family loved it, but when I slipped out behind her, no one noticed.

Traveling alone was exhilarating. I was swarmed with other dragons, modern dragons that had done so much more than my forebears had ever dreamed of accomplishing. I was invited into a clan of crafters, but after watching their inner politics, I left as I came. Soon, I found my sister, traveling with a beast of a dragon. A huge rack of antlers sat on their brow as they walked, and Nemo sat on one of the prongs, chattering away to the stoic giant.
