Nivale is obsessed with cleanliness and encourages everyone to pick up after themselves. He literally has eyes in the back of his head, so everyone knows better than to litter around him. Wherever he goes his presence removes toxins from the air - something about his cold breath precipitates smog, smoke, and other impurities into small piles of dust that are easy to wash away.

He was found as an orphan and doesn't know where he came from. Many in the clan have a similar story, but he is one of the few who wish for what he never had. He has a dream of one day meeting his family - a dream he hasn't shared with anyone except the snowdragons he loves to build. He had to steal to survive until he was taken in by the clan - in fact, he acquired his familiar Mr. Wiggles by stealing the Banshee Brooch from a merchant during a festival.
