Your clan is beginning to form around you, dragons perking up with interest and arriving to join you. The steppes are a lovely place of warm playful breezes, and it seems like everyone is interested in the new clans arriving. While your new lair is in a place of peace and beauty you can see the broken rocks of the Ascent and the giant storm that is the Crescendo and far above the kite and balloons of the Windsong. Out of the fierce winds of the highest levels, a dark speck plummets. It resolves into a pair of dragons, one dressed for war and one rather flamboyant. Behind them is another dragon, one that speaks to your heart.

The beautiful pearlcatcher has come to stay, and the shining warrior seems to have come to deliver a package. A chest is dumped with a thunk at your feet and a very toothy smile directed your way as the cocky mirror speaks, "Welcome to the zephyr steppes. I'm WindStar, yes named for the Bay, and that colourful fellow wandering off there is Alvis. Don't mind him, part of his duty as a Peacekeeper is to ward new clans. He'll put up a nice don't-see-me spell keyed to those who might wish you harm, and you'll all be as safe as can be while you get settled. I've brought you a welcome gift, and a hopeful new clan member. This is Ypres. Our clan is a mite crowded and she is hoping you might offer her a new home!" WindStar spreads his wings slightly, flashing carribean blue and pauses, "Oh yes, I also have a few little welcome trinkets in the chest. It's always nice to have more clans in the steppes. Now I have a letter for you, easier than trying to remember those tips myself you know. Welcome and enjoy!"

A deep breath and shimmering sea wings flap again, "Ask Zenhugz if you are looking for more help." With that he lets the wind lift him into the sky, seemingly forgetting to mention the contents of the package or anything more about the dragon he left behind gazing hopefully in your direction with gleaming wind green eyes.

Tucked in with the chest is a note titled Zenhugz Random Tips

Most things you ever need to know are in the thread Wind Flight Info Hub It is pinned to the top of the Wind Forum (vs Wind Sales) so it is hard to miss. I know you need highlights: Say Hello, Get a Mentor, Learn About Wind Flight, Learn About Dominance, Be Social (IR, Skype, Movie Nights, etc), Writers, Artists, Music, Birthdays, Games, User Guides, Resources so many Resources it is AMAZING. Check it out.

When you do your daily "Gather Items" pick scavenging every day. This gives you a chance to get an unhatched egg. This egg will be a gen 1 (not related to any other dragon on the game) and their prices (unhatched) on the action house are enough to get you a treasure gene. If you want to keep it, know that it will be mirror/fae/tundra/guardian and it will have no genes, just like your progen (but you can trade/sell it, but unless it is a double same colour the egg is worth more than the dragon will be). The alternative theory is work on something like insect catching and sell things like black witches on the AH as they are part of a swipp trade. This works best during the 2 hours a specific trade is up, but can also be a great way to earn money and you don't have to wait for a long time for an egg.

Now the exception to the scavenge every day (at least to start) is the festivals. At the end of every month, spend the week of the festival digging (you can also dig ahead of time for materials if you are into Baldwins stuff). That gives you a chance to get a festival chest, which has festival stuff in it. If you don't like the festival stuff much, you can always throw it in your vault for a year or two and make money selling it later on. Or maybe later on your tastes will change and you'll be glad you kept it!

The cheapest way to buy genes is to go to the forums and go into "Items For Sale" then look for a DOM Shop (may not always be called that, one week I found one called "Aez's Magical Discount Shop" because arcane was dominating). What this means is that the flight that holds Dominance will buy things if you send them the money so you get their 15% discount... of course it is nice to tip (I usually add 5k or so when ordering genes) and they'll let you know if there is something they'd like for a tip or if they'd added a bit extra to prices or whatever.

New genes and other things are often super hard to get because everyone wants them. A sniper is someone who will stalk the marketplace and buy up the gene for you the second it appears. Some of the DOM shops will snipe and some will not. DOM shops only work for items you buy with treasure. They do not get a discount on gem items. You don't need to worry when Wind has DOM, buy stuff then! Please consider helping out with Wind Flights DOM efforts, Squire Training can be found here: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/fd3/2349113

Coli (the coliseum) is pretty core to the game. This a major way to get food, money, participate in dominance, get items to trade with swipp or melt in baldwins. There is a guide here on training dragons that is super popular: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/1040710 but one thing to say is that Culex's Mire build is a bit out of date because of changes to the coli. If you want to use one dragon in the Mire, try 119 STR / 64 QCK / 30 VIT. It means you can rally+eliminate all but the bosses. A non-Eliminate stone version is here: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2217190.

You need named adult dragons to coli. I recommend arcane, wind, and plague for your starter team. But whatever you like works. You need to look at these dragons for the next 5000000 hours so you gotta love them. Those three flights just have a tiny edge in the 3 highest level venues because of their elemental alignments. I personally only ever use two level 25 dragons at a time, but might as well get 3 level 25's at once while you are at it so you can start them slightly differently and use them in mixed teams.

If you want to get right into exalting dragons to the glory of the Windsinger (or cash), just remember to name all dragons first, ESPECIALLY your progen babies. Watch out selling low cost dragons, they will get exalted most likely. There is a thread for selling your first progen babies: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drw/2649276 (if this is out of date search the Find a Dragon Forum with "progen" as you can't sell your progen, remember to limit the search time scale).

If you want to help the flight, an easy 15 minute (or more) thing that can get you cool prizes is to play games for Windsinger Wednesday: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/fl3/2717577/1
Please come play (check the latest posts for prizes)!

DO NOT EXALT YOUR PROGENS (first two). This will likely lead to deep regret if you continue to play the game. Everything but sex can be changed with scrolls. Now if you hate your random progen (mine used to be pink, black and emerald, I was desperate to scatter him) you can get a tri-colored scatterscroll. This scroll is 350 gems. You take your gems to the marketplace and go into the gem shop and get your scroll there (you can check the Auction House but sometimes people put things up for really terrible prices).

When buying from the Auction House (AH) always check the Marketplace price first and search for what you want then order by price to make sure you are spending wisely. And vice versa.

The Find a Dragon forums are amazing, you can post your dreams here and FR people help you make them come true finding that lovely dragon. I'll help too :D I love breeding and dragon shopping.

The Raffles forum has some free raffles, often with dragons you can win as well as other fun stuff. A raffle tht is open periodicallly and helps the flight is the Exalt One Dragon Hub found here: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/fd3/2761949/1 (they have a ping list you can sign up for so they will tell you when it opens).

Money... I always asked this. So here are my tips. Play Glimmer and Gloom hard level (http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2477115/1#post_34094312). Exalting doesn't often get you gems, but it gets you treasure. This works best once you have trained a team to level 25 (highest level) and can use two dragons to quickly level up a third (kite or fodder) to exalt. Or using one dragon at level 25 in the Mire to train two. You get treasure (all chests) and a few gems (iron/gilded chests) from familiars at each interval. You can sell adult dragons for someone else to exalt until you've trained your coliseum team, check the AH for prices or look in raffles for a Public Buy (DOM). Fodder prices go up high during big DOM battles. At registration periods some new users buy dragons for a bit more, but it is often hard to sell dragons to non-exalt homes. You can sell things you get in the coliseum. You really do want to start work on a coli team and you can find things worth a bit at least, including familiars and battlestones you can sell for gems or treasure. Either autosell 'small stuff' from your vault or sell on the AH. Fighting also gets you food for your dragons (plus if your dragons are fed, you get a gem a day). Check out the lists of things that can be used at Swipp's (http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/1749872) and at Baldwin's (http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/1950536) though and don't eat or autosell those things as you can sell them in the AH or use them yourself to get cool stuff. Melt stuff with low value in Baldwins. Green is used to make a festival skin/accent and there is lots of other stuff you can make OR sell your melted stuff for nice cash. Stuff is often worth way more melted, but check AH and guides so you don't melt the wrong thing. Selling things like eggs in the AH gets you a lot (at least the cost of a treasure gene if not more). Selling things like eggs in the AH gets you a lot (at least the cost of a treasure gene if not more). Playing Glimmer and Gloom is the best Fairground game now (here is a guide: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2477115#post_2477115). And don't forget your daily item from Pinkerton's Pile!

Any questions PLEASE message me! I want to talk about your dragons. I want to help you love DOM. I want to hear how your day went. Whatever. I am not always good about getting back fast but I will do my best.

Exalting Ypres to the service of the Windsinger will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
