personality Nikola is the life of every party she goes to. She is impulsive, loud, and exciting. She's always looking for something new and crazy to do, whether it be a new extreme food or a crazy thrill ride, she's down to do something crazy and wild. She always has electricity and lightning arcing across her scales. It causes all her fur and feathers to stick up straight. She thinks it's funny to hang out with tundras and gaolers because she makes all their fluff stick up. Despite her volatile nature, she's not prone to anger. Her temper has a rather long fuse, but when it does run out, everyone knows to stay out of her way, lest they take five hundred volts straight to the throat. backstory They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice, but Nikola knows different. While still in the egg, Nikola's egg was struck twice. Shortly after hatching, she was struck again. Before she was full grown, she was struck fifteen more times. By that time, she began to be looked at by doctors. There was nothing wrong with her aside from the fact that lightning has begun to crackle and spark across her scales. Before Nikola left her home, she was struck seven more times, bringing her total to twenty five, and received the nickname 'Lightning Rod.' Nikola thought leaving the Shifting Expanse would make the situation better, but everywhere she went, the storms followed. She wasn't overly concerned; it didn't hurt and the lightning across her scales got more and more extreme, but it wasn't a problem. There was nothing medically wrong with her, so she decided it must've been something magical. From the time she left home to the time she found a mage to help her, her total was up to fifty nine. The mage told her there was nothing magically wrong with her, but she should consider it a blessing from the Stormcatcher. Nikola accepted the blessing and he life immediately improved. The lightning on her scales became even more extreme, but she wasn't struck by lightning again. job Nikola is the professor of physics. Her classroom is as wild as she is. There are coils, conductors, and all sorts of things that keep her lightning from hurting students. Lightning is always arcing around the classroom, through the coils, and back to Nikola. Her class is almost entirely based on labs and demonstrations. There is rarely homework, because Nikola helps students through it during class. They play all sorts of games to learn. They build trebuchets to destroy castles made by the architecture students, they play with liquid nitrogen, and they have a lot of fun. Rumor has it that if a student doesn't want to work hard in her class, they can bring her homemade food and she'll give them a perfect grade, but she'll also give them academic probation. |
