A standoffish Gaoler with a tragic past he can’t quite remember.
Doctor, the doctor. That was him, that was his purpose, his calling. He doesn’t remember his name, and he doesn’t care to.

Living on the edge of the growing clan, he watches all the comers and goers with a weary eye. He doesn’t trust Missus, the guardian who removed his memories. Unlike everyone else, she told him what she had made him forget. He was a traitor to his friends and family. How he had betrayed them, he didn’t know, but she told him that if he ever wanted to be seen as honorable again he needed to stay and work for her.

He didn’t stay because of honor. He stays because he wants to take care of all the poor dragons that come to her with their sorrows seeking a cure. He cures their physical ailments the best he can, sometimes at the expense of his own health, because he knows that nothing he can do can fix the strange sadness of a forgotten past. He doesn’t blame all of the dragons caught in her clutches as mercenaries and thieves, building her strange collection. He doesn’t blame the dragons that keep the clan running while she buries herself in strange, mystical work. He blames himself for not stopping them for seeking her out in the first place. But every time, when a new weary pilgrim wanders past his hut, he lets them go. Because he knows he was in that kind of pain once, and he would have given his whole world to have it taken from him, even if he didn’t remember why.
