Biography

Quote:
Uh-oh, looks like this shy alchemist wandered a little too far from their home lair (545868), and now they're off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, they'd really appreciate it if you could just return them to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but they would be very grateful!

Azure is incredibly interested in the scientific field which created their breed, and loves to try combinations of ingredients! They are nonbinary, and selectively mute. They dream of someday creating another new breed like Baldwin did!

The Academy - ZippoFeuer
It took them a long time to get from their homeland in the Gladeveins to the center of magical study that was the Arcanist's Observatory- they'd heard of specialized schools in the area, that might be able to help further their studies.
At the great stone doors of the Academy, they hesitated. As much as this was a place renowned for its teachings of Alchemy and Astronomy, it was also a place known to have a strange effect on the world around it. Displaced, it was said; this was a place displaced in time.
They took a breath.

One step, then another, past the threshold- feeling the bubble of non-time swallow them.
It wasn't so bad, they decided, after a moment's hesitation. They could get to like it here- it was quiet, as an environment. Even the sounds that accompanied it being a library seemed to be dulled by the time-weird that they felt around themself.

The lab's store room was... wow.
"There's not too much, but I haven't been able to use the cauldrons for restocking in a while," Bainisk shrugged, flapping across to the cabinets with a rush of chaotic wind; "but if you want to, I'm sure we can get you access to whatever you need." Not too much? It seemed they had vats and vats of the base materials used in transmutations!
Still, Azure thought about it. Softly, they questioned; "whatever I need?"
"Yeah, probably; I know this is a bit of a weird space, but-,"
"A cauldron."
Bainisk almost laughed, and Azure momentarily felt fear- had they said something wrong? "Just a cauldron? You don't want to borrow any of our resources?"
"I'll work on my own," they whispered, barely able to talk past the lump that still sat in their throat from the mere suggestion that they'd misstepped.
"Huh? You don't have to. But yeah, hold on, we've got lots of cast iron cauldrons. It's kinda surprising that we need extras, but first-years are actually pretty good at breaking them, you know?"
They nodded vaguely. That wasn't really something they'd know, but he seemed pretty confident in the truth of the statement, so they accepted it as true.
"Actually, I was one of them. Still am! A person who uh, breaks the equipment. Not a first-year." He hop-jump-turned around, one claw holding the pot, and both wings trying to off-set the weight so he could still stand. "Here you go!"
"No trouble?" Their voice was hoarse and dry- it was a wonder he could hear them over the metal scraping of the pot against its handle.
"None at all. Library resources and whatnot, yeah?"
Huh.

The freeness of their guests to anything the academy had to offer was... strange. Nice, but strange.
Azure liked it.
They set out with the cauldron (not yet aware that it was sentient), to new adventures. Maybe with a new clan, they wouldn't get so nervous as to leave with only the one alchemist's tool- they hoped so, anyway. It would be tragic if their shyness made their quest for a new breed all the more difficult.

Exalting Azure to the service of the Gladekeeper will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
