Biography

HASAD

An arrow pierced through the leaves of the trees. It hit Vanhild in her shoulder, next to her wing. She screamed, but did not hesitated, she drew her sword and commanded her men.

The outer part of Fohheim was tranquil and partially welcoming of the queens right arm. Vanhild's duty was to meeting villages under the queen's name, spreading the empire, reestablish links and keeping everything in order, except for the unclaimed part of the Fohheim. The arrow on her shoulerd was the welcoming they had on the dense part of the woods of Fohheim.

A big guardian camouflaged among trees and bushes that were copper and blue as him jumped and took Vanhild down.

He was fast and swift, about to stick a big dagger on the skydancer's chest when he was striked by a spear from one of the men, and then another. Hurt but not on vital points the guardian kept trying to fight. In his mind he believed he could shoot down the skydancer, if he could just do it in the right time.

The guardian's whistle echoed through the blue and copper of the forest, outnumbered he asked for help and soon a fae was with him, and for everyone's surprise on Vanhild's party they had now matching numbers in this fight, and even maybe they could be outnumbered. Dragons oc copper. blue and golden.

Vanhild stood her ground and commanded her men to attack. The spring dream of Vitserk was hers, and she would never lose a single part of that land to no one.

***

One day to be friends, this was how Vanhild meet Hasad and Caywa, the old guardians of Fohheim. Living in the dense woods city, surrounded by the ever copper and blue life. Once they were guardians made by the All Mother, nowadays that don't remind their creator, but only of their duty, to protect. And so they did, they protected the ones who fleed from the war and ran to the blessing of the copper blue forest.

>> Hasad and Caywa are guardians of the forest were now resides the body of a dead Goddess. Some say she was the daughter of the All Mother, others says she was a prisioner bound to never leave the forest. The first one is truth.

>> Hasad and Caywa were created to protec the place from intruders who raid and steal everything and the Goddess power. This was a long time ago now. The Goddess power spreaded through the place and made the forest grow even more and turn blue and copper, and with time Hasad and Caywan forgot the main reason of their duty, only getting a sense that they must protect he place. some dragons start to move to there, where they teach them about the place and little by little it turns into a city in a dense forest

>> This is how they end up protecting the people that fled from the war and raids everywhere before the empire was stabilished. Hasad and his mate don't trust the empire at first, but later they welcome them.

>> The forest is called Fohheim.

>> Hasad and Caywan don't know yet, but Nozette, Normund and Khelgaro kinda know and learn through their powers and skills what's buried there

CHOICE

xxxxHasad ran a claw tip along the golden curve of a flower petal gingerly, feeling his soul resonate as the metallic bloom bent softly in response. The leaves of the plant were a pleasant copper-blue, he realised now - they had been a dull steel blue a few months ago… Fohheim had changed.

xxxxBut Hasad had not.

xxxxHis purpose had been the same since the very beginning. As long as he could remember, he’d always been a protector, a guardian, some retainer of a holy power he didn’t fully understand. Fohheim was like the Garden of Eden, and he and Caywa were the angels outside guarding the gate with flaming swords. Except that some of them had gotten in, and there was no driving them out. He’d even let them build a city. The All Mother would’ve been disappointed, wouldn’t she?

xxxxHe glanced down at his claws, sharpened for battle. They were always sharpened. He was always ready. It was his duty to be ready. Hasad couldn’t really remember much else, but he knew what his duty was, and how he would always be loyal to Fohheim and the All Mother, and perhaps that was enough.

Was it?

xxxxHasad raised his gaze to the skies when he heard footsteps behind him. He didn’t startle, because peace was settling upon him like the first blanket of snow in winter, and it was clear to him that his mate had arrived, as she always did, eventually. It was just in Caywa’s nature to know where he’d slunk off to, like there was a thread of copper-blue tying them and their fates together. He felt her before he heard her, and he heard her before he saw her. It was delicate, her presence was, and she reminded Hasad distinctly of that golden flower he’d touched with her dainty beauty and petite elegance.

xxxxHe didn’t say a word until she had paused by his side, enjoying the silence and the slight ringing echo of the metallic leaves rustling. But then, when there was no time left to stretch on.

xxxx— I am very glad that you are okay — Hasad opened his mouth and told her

xxxx— As am I — Caywa replied, inclining her head towards him briefly.

xxxxHasad settled down onto the ground, seeing no more meaning in remaining standing. His head was swimming with thoughts that he couldn’t organise, and it felt so difficult to just pick one to start. He knew Caywa would listen. She always did, always was such a benign listener.

xxxx— The All Mother will be disappointed — he croaked finally, unable to even sneak a furtive glance at his mate. He didn’t want to see the look on her face, that quiet stoicity that he so sorely lacked. Sometimes he wished he could be as strong-willed as Caywa.

xxxxCaywa nestled into his side, her warmth seeping through his skin and into his bones — She will.

xxxx— And?

xxxx— And we are still the same. — She tilted her head so that her brilliant turquoise eyes met his — We are still dutiful.

xxxx“How can we be dutiful,” Hasad asked slowly, “if the All Mother is unhappy?”

xxxx— Our loyalty is first and foremost to Fohheim,— Caywa murmured — We fought against Vanhild to protect the forest. And that is our duty, to protect the forest. We were never told to be puppets for a goddess. We were created to be sentinels for a forest, love, and here we are. — She gestured outwards to the copper expanse of Fohheim’s lush greenery — Sentinels.

xxxxHasad gazed at her, lost for words.

xxxx— Even if we let them in — his mate continued — even if we let the Empire in- we do it for the good of Fohheim. Even if it means disappointing the All Mother. — She gave him the smallest of smiles. — And even as the centuries pass, as battle and duty sully our memories, we will always have this to come back to.

xxxxHe swallowed, said nothing, and surveyed their kingdom of copper. He knew she was right. Time would pass and battles would resume, but some things would never change.

xxxxAnd so they’d live on, leaves in the wind, led so loyally into the limitless future.
