- protector of the first hollow column
- was discovered hibernating underneath the rumble when the column was first dug out
- protects the column and the vault below with his life, though he grows somewhat disillusioned with his duties
- thought the vault was his charge originally, but eventually realised it was actually the imperial who charged him with guarding it, and that he only stays here out of loyalty to her
- now that she is gone and presumably dead, he wonders what point staying here even serves, and whether he's wasting his life
- this feeling is compounded now that the contents of the vault have started leaking out and there's nothing he or the other protector can do about it
- continues guarding the column anyway since at this point it's all he knows how to do
