She was tangled once again, drowning in nature magic. Powerful for such a young dragon, the healers had told her parents, who had beamed proudly. Too powerful, they had whispered amongst themselves.

The succulents tightened their thin yet resilient roots around her thigh. The cheery pastel colours of the blooms didn't fool Cora. She wasn't sure where she'd picked this one up, and honestly she didn't care at the moment. It was yet another parasite that wanted her to be its host, and she was starting to get tired of it. She seethed. In response to her negative thoughts, her magic flared. The roots thickened and grew barbs, pricking her ankle and quickly weaving itself around her tail. Cora hissed as the thorns pierced her hide and tried to calm herself down.

She concentrated on her breathing: air in through her nose, out through her mouth with a sigh. The roots finally released their grip, retreating into a dormant state that looked almost like a filigree curling down both of her hind legs and her tail. Cora sighed again. Another new plant to add to the collection, to go with the tree growing under her right wing and the vines bursting from her pearl, among many, many other smaller plants.

Cora pinched the bridge of her nose. She had to get her problem under control. Anger management and probably therapy, to begin with. She was pretty sure a lot of this had to do with her emotions, and it would at least stop the plants from tangling her up. A pamphlet, pinned to a nearby tree, catches her eye: "Got a magical malady you need cured? Visit the Facility for the Magically Peculiar!" Hmm... it couldn't hurt to try, right?
