Biography

"Oh bother, not again. Be careful, please?!"

The only known son of Aifric, the once-lost mate of Berach who has chosen after many a moon to return, this Nocturne is a very curious namesake. Through magics he somehow found himself, fur and a keen nose have been sacrificed for the Shadow's most curious form, that of a Nocturne. Exactly how is difficult to say as the spell required is not only complex, but the instructions are hard to come by. For lack of any means to change his shape to match his impressive father Telor, this inquisitive little dragon's dealings with magic have lead him to simply choosing his own shape.

Something one would think a former Tundra to be incapable but Ailin seems to defy expectation by not only achieving this goal but settling quickly into the advantages of his new form. Including the ability to actually remember one's friends, or foes, when they return from whatever travels they've been on. It's because of this and his keen interest in all things magic ever since that's made Ailin a keen pupil when it comes to the arcane, seeking to expand his already intuitive knowledge even more.

With that in mind, his cave is already lined with all manner of tomes and scrolls lining shelves not taken up by the rogue trinket or jar of... something we dare not guess most of the time. Some have powders, gems or some kind of stone while a few more... well, we just hope they're fresh.

In a nutshell, his abode is a literal mess that is somehow organized by someone with a mind keen enough to remember not only where everything is at most any moment, but where to put anything new so it 'doesn't get lost'. After having taken a peek inside, one has to believe him once one finds a tome on anatomy stuffed amidst almanacs of astronomy, or a dried and pressed salamander between the pages dealing entirely with healing salves. And no, we don't know how that even happened. One upside has to be that anything borrowed is usually squirreled away and found in a few wingbeats, sometimes actually looking far better than the days or months since it ended up in Ailin's hoard.

There'd probably be no great surprise to knowing actual squirrels are responsible for most of the organization that goes on in that cave. Without much proof, it's poor manners to assume much of anyone. Even if staying primarily in the lanes of travel means you don't step on something fragile or rare that somehow ended up underfoot. Though it's hard to understand why one could want or somehow need to have a broadsword sticking out of a worktable...

Just to keep a gryphon skull from somehow going anywhere. Is it cursed, you think?
