It's hard to say when you got here, or why, or even how, but this party does not feel like a party at all.

You sit in a long, dark room, the walls painted a rich black with a gold tapestry hanging off of them like a desperate attempt to make the place appear more tasteful than it was. The room smells of cheap wine and three-day-old dinner, stale and cold. At the head of the table, sit two large men.

One wears a grey suit, it's plain and cheap, falling apart at the seams as if moths have come and taken parts of the fabric with them. Like the man beside him, his eyes too are covered, hidden beneath a thin cloth and yet you feel his eyes on you as if the man is looking into your very soul. He has no smile on his face, no emotion to detect, he sits, waiting for you to ask a question you already have asked before.

When you finally ask him why or how you arrived at this so-called party, he sighs. He has heard this before, time and time again he has heard you and your foolish question. Foolish child, the man will say. You are not listening, he snaps. Run, run now, run far away and never look back- but before he can finish your meal is brought to you and set down before you. By the time you look down your food is gone, and all you can smell is three day old dinner.

You look back up, when did you arrive at this party? Or how? Or when?

B I O G R A P H Y

A creature roughly based off of the hidebehind, it seems to follow people who walk alone in the old woods and occasionally follows a lucky few home in order to collect objects for its little hoard. It isn't dangerous, just... don't try to take back the things it's taking from you.

You ever get the feeling someones behind you? Like if you were to turn around in that moment you'd be face to face with a stranger or some terrifying monster?

That's the feeling you get when you walk alone in the old woods. Every tree in the area had been claimed by some disease and died out long ago, leaving twisting branches bare and creaking in the wind, the ground covered with a thick layer of dead leaves and the smell of decay everywhere.

Other people have said they feel a presence too but the fact that you aren't alone in feeling such things doesn't seem to comfort you at all, it just makes the idea more real. You've given up on trying to turn around and check when you know nothing is there so whatever it is, you just let it follow.

Normally the feeling disappears once you exit the woods but today it followed you home. Something followed you home. It wasn't until you were in the safety of your home that you finally turned around and low and behold there it was. An ancient-looking creature stood before you with the face of a deer skull that seemed to have jet black wings protruding from it. It was oddly beautiful, graceful in the way it came towards you. You weren't as scared as you thought you should have been at that moment, in fact, you felt like you were just meeting an old friend.

The being didn't seem to stay for long, it moved about your house and seemed to take several odd objects with it, a hairbrush, a broken lightbulb, some socks, then it left as quietly as it came.

You haven't felt like you were being watched in the woods anymore since that encounter, and needless to say, you miss it.
