Astraeus

Some say that the twinkling of the stars in the night sky are actually dancing dragons who want to be admired. Dragons who shine in the brightest of ways in order to show the world how bright they can actually burn. Now normally the stars keep to themselves, only seeking out the curious glances from the dragons below. A star would not dare interact with anyone from down below. It would be quite the scandal if one of the stars left to be with a dragon of the land.

One night, a particular Star took notice of a single dragon standing alone on one of the beaches. The Star was captivated by the midnight scales of the dragoness. He did everything within his power to capture the attention of the lone dragon, but she was focused on one thing only. The moon held her full attention, no matter what the Star did he was unable to capture her gaze. Now he noticed that every single night the dragoness would come out to the beaches and commune with the moon. And everytime the Star would do everything within his power to steal the gaze of this dragon.

The Star finally got fed up with being ignored by the dragon and he decided to descend. Many of the other stars were appalled by his decision to leave. The descent of a star could cause catastrophe for the dragons below. He did not listen to the warnings. The Star pushed himself away from the sky. It was easier than he thought. With one simple shove, he broke free from the heavens, descending in a ball of flames towards the beaches he had been watching nonstop. The Star landed in a crashing heap on the shoreline, leaving behind crystals of glass from the heat of his arrival. He stood before a speechless dragoness. The Star finally had the attention of the one he wanted most.

“I am Astraeus the Starborn. You have bewildered me from the moment that I laid eyes on you.” Astraeus smiled dashingly.

The Skydancer blushed, “My name is Lune. You came all the way from the heavens just for me?” she asked, puzzled.

“Yes, your gaze has eluded me for many nights. I wanted to ask if you would want to accompany me on a stroll?” The Spiral extended his hand to Lune.

The two dragons walked side by side down the shore. This is what Astraeus had been looking for. He finally had the attention of the most beautiful dragon that he had ever laid his eyes on. The following days turned to weeks which eventually turned into years. Astraeus had found that he enjoyed his new life alongside Lune. He would dance for her every night, just like he had during his time in the sky.
