MASQUER



Masquer is a shy imperial with deft hands and a bleeding heart for his clan muse, Morgana. The two spend many an intimate hour in one another's presence as Masquer sculpts, fiddles, and carves away at his clay creations, ranging from wearable mask-pieces to statutes. Their commonality is that the dragon reflected in them all is Morgana themselves, who makes a killing simply posing at Masquer's will. The two share a cordial working relationship, but there's no indication of it going further - a fact that Masquer has to remind himself of every time he fires the kiln, scratches another love letter into the mold before beating it silly, hums something romantic under his breath...an artist's first love is his work, after all, and who's to say that these feelings aren't a mere reflection of his artistic soul? It's the best excuse he has going forward, and for now, it will suffice.

Past Morgana's daily visits to his den, Masquer is rarely seen in the public eye, far too nervous to give into the public eye. His work is quite popular already, regularly selling, but it is without a doubt to everyone - Masquer included - that it would go much faster if the artist himself was a public entity. Pressure keeps Masquer in his cave, afraid that a moment away from clay will soften his touch. Morgana doesn't seem to agree, and has been applying slightly more pressure each day to do something with them - anything at all, really, so long as it doesn't stink of drying glaze. Will Masquer trust them enough to listen?
