Welkin - the sky; heaven
Some dragons grow into their names, others have embodied them since the day they were hatched, others bear their names as unfortunate reminders of that that they could have been. Welkin, unfortunately, belongs to the latter category. Welkin cannot help but to hear the voices of those long gone. Ancient whispers in guttural tongues, cries of near-inaudible speech from ghosts of dragons that haven't seen Sornieth since long before the start of the third age, and worst of all were the cries of much more recent ghosts, begging for a return to life. With the ghost of every dragon from every age wants your attention, sleep becomes impossible. Not only sleep, but really any activity. Nothing is more distracting than the grim specter of a dragon you've never seen anything even remotely like hovering behind you in the mirror. If he weren't so exhausted all the time, it could be worth his time to try and study these ancient ghosts. |
