F E N I K S O
EXILED IOTA

"Don't worry... they'll come to me."
When Fenikso wants something, he won’t stop to get it unless it kills him. Or, at least gets him exiled. His harmless desire to be noticed and appreciated turned into a plan that resulted in his banishment. He didn't mind, though. It meant he got a few minutes to enjoy his pack's attention. Because the Skydancer wants so desperately to be noticed, he'll do anything his superiors tell him to, no matter how much he resents them for it. But when blind obedience didn't do anything to boost his status, it was time to be rebllious. |

As a hatchling, Fenikso received all the attention he desired. He was favored over his older siblings and adored by all the adults in his family, and could get away with anything he did with an innocent look and a pointing finger. He grew to love and become dependent on this attention, and even had selected a career path that would give him attention, even after he grew up.
But then something terrible happened.
He was chosen to be a wolf.
While he was congratulated by his family for receiving such an honor, the Skydancer was furious. The wolves were barely in the village, and when they were, it was only in the company of the nobles for a few moments at most. There were also many who hated the wolves, and for good reason. Why in Sornieth was he to be burdened with such a distasteful title, when he had wanted completely different?!
He had tried his best to get out of being a wolf, pleading and begging to choose a different path. He was met with denial, however, as ``destiny had chosen him, and his path could not be denied.``
And things went from bad to worse, when after secluded training, he fit best into the role of an Iota. A healer?! There were already many who shared the same title, so he was far from unique. What's more, where others were to be braving the wilderness on a daily basis to return to praise and welcome, Iotas would stay behind in the shadows to heal the fearless heroes that returned home.
If he was forced to remain a healing wolf, then he wanted to be the one on the top. And Fenikso always got what he wanted.
Desperate to receive praise, Fenikso was a sharp listener and obedient yearling under the training of other Iotas. This plan worked it's wonders, as he was seen as a gem to his mentors. This didn't last for too long, though, as he graduated from his training quickly due to his quick learning, and he soon joined the silent ranks of his fellows.
He continued to listen and follow orders from his higher ranked brethren, but it didn't work the same as it did when he was in training. And after enduring this silent treatment for too long, he changed course.
The wolves were shocked. They had no idea what had began this sudden plague, and none of the remaining healers could do anything about it. Only Fenikso, the creator of the poison, knew the cure, but he wasn't going to share it just yet. He wanted his few moments in the spotlight first.
When Astra was chosen to be put temporarily in charge, Fenikso had the idea to feed the anxious Guardian a false cure, so she would worsen the condition of the two patients. Then she would be forced to step down, right?
When her "cure" did nothing to help the patients, only weakening their situation, Fenikso once again offered his pack's Alpha to be the one put in charge. He explained that he would do a better job than Astra would. And Diakilo, with a suspicious glare, reluctantly accepted.
Fenikso was joyous to be put in a temporary position of power, and immediately put it to use, ordering around the other Iotas to gather the materials that would eventually be part of the cure, and even concoct false remedies that were said to keep the other wolves from getting sick - in reality, poisoning them as well. He spent days alone "experimenting" with different herbs to find the right remedy, instead brainstorming bits of his master plan that would ensure his continued admiration.
And so, with his cure completely prepared, he ordered for the easily manipulated Astra to give the two ill healers a poison that would weaken them even further, as "they were more important and needed to be cured first." And when Astra reported that the remedy didn't work, he rushed to them with the cure in hand, only to be stopped by Diakilo.
He went on to explain his continued treatment, being shunned and ignored. He explained that this was why he never wanted to be a wolf. He began to circle Diakilo, sharing the ideas of his plan with as many exaggerated, foul details as he could, trying to draw on his pack's attention for as long as possible. He gestured toward the pack, with the complete lie of, "And the best part? My plan worked."
Diakilo furiously shot some of his magic at the Skydancer, growling that it wouldn't be that way for long. He was "an evil menace that he had to rid from his pack, before he contaminated everyone."
"Then what do you plan on doing? Killing me? Banishing me? Either way, you can't heal your packmates without me." The Fae responded with a confident statement that they would find a way without him, and that he were to leave the pack's grounds and never return, lest he be killed.
He smirked, smugly stating that he wasn't so sure. He tightly grabbed the vial of remedy and took off, disappearing behind the trees before the pack could think twice. He flew over the border marking the edge of the pack's territory, only stopping when he could no longer see the forest floor through the thick canopy.
He flew down through the thick trees, setting up a camp in an overhung clearing. He curled up and slept, reliving how his pack had watched him, listened to him, even left to track him and see if he really left.
But now he was exiled. He could never return to the pack without risking being killed, and they would have surely warned the city to keep an eye out for him. He would never be able to go back, never be able to live through the same level of attention from anyone he used to know.
But no matter. They would be back.
Only Fenikso knew the cure.
