Lineage

Biography

Taos, a trained fighter with a few matches under his belt and a strong arsenal of attacks, was confident he could hold is own in the Coliseum. Baird, the first fighter of his family, showed great promise in his trial runs. Together, the two entered the coliseum and began their slow climb through the ranks.
At first it went well, with Baird’s optimism and Taos’s tactical skills winning them match after match. A generous patron taught them the art of ambushing, and how to eliminate a weakened opponent with one brutal attack. For a while, it seemed like they were unstoppable.

When they left the Waterway behind and entered the Arena, and everything fell apart. They couldn’t find a reliable third for their matches, and the double-tailed warcats seemed to have it out for Baird especially. The pair suffered defeat after defeat, until it seemed like they would have to throw in the towel for good.

Just as they were about to give in, a lone Skydancer came to them, glittering red scales and eyes that spoke of years of experience. Theseus was his name, and he offered his assistance. A good week of training under his guidance, he promised, and they would be at the top of the coliseum ranks.

Side by side the trio trained, from the dusty arena to the scorching volcanic heat; from the frigid woods to the haunted ruins of Ghostlight. Up and up they went, until even the challengers of the Forbidden Portal couldn’t match them.

“I’ve taught you all I know,” Theseus said at last, looking over Taos and Baird approvingly. “It’s time I went home.”

Taos and Baird nodded, understanding but sad to see their friend go. “Thank you, Theseus. We never could have done it without you.”

“Oh, I don’t think that’s entirely true. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time with you.”

“Stay safe!” Baird called as Theseus started his journey home.

Theseus just laughed. “You don’t have to worry about me, kid. See you around.”
