Ruse

Born when the veil between is thinnest, at midnight under a full moon, when his mother's powers are at their height, Ruse lives up to his demonic heritage. It is unclear whether his birth was that of a mortal being or if he was summoned from the beyond. He is a darkling creature, unearthly and hallow. It seems that he knows everything that happens around him, even if he did not witness the event himself.

Ruse is an envoy to the Reanimated Hollow, sent by Concoction to secure Remnant's support for her bid to rule Clan Ahnraeth. He keeps an eye on all the goings-on of the Hollow and its inhabitants. A particularly close watch is kept over Nephthys, the child of a rival. It is unclear if he reports back to his mother with his findings or if he keeps them to himself.

Either way, it seems that as time passes his loyalty to the clan of his birth fades as he becomes more attuned to the Hollow. His powers, augmented by the circumstances of his birth, are useful to the fledgeling clan. He spends much time brewing potions of various use and casting rituals to varying purpose as needed.

But in the dark of night, there are none awake to see the demon dance.
